Default noob question about the TRD Exhaust/muffler

finally got a job, and finally willing to spend some money on my tC... just a small noob question, i was thinking about the TRD Exhaust system, just cuz it keeps it under warranty and what not...

questions,

a) does it even boost a lil performance even if it's like 1/2 a pony?

b) anyone have a quick link to a sound clip of it, all the ones in the sticky have other mods w/ the exhaust

c) is it worth it

thanks.

a) the trd exhaust is mostly for sound.. there is a slight little gain, but it's something you won't notice.. even feel. it's all in the mind.

b) the clips of the exhaust on the sticky is what yours will sound like basically.. the same tone.. just imagine it deeper since you don't have any mods to aid it.

c) nope. get a catback.. a trd exhaust is overpriced (from the dealer), imo. there's someone selling it for 245 shipped in the classifieds right now. that's all on you though. but with 245, i would save a little more and get a catback.. much more worth it. don't waste your hard earned money on an axelback.. unless you do custom midpiping.

You can get any exhuast and it will not void ur warranty. TRD is a waste of money with nothing in return IMO. If you like the stock look...go magnaflow or precision muffler, if u like the canister look, go HKS or Injen.

IMO the TRD sounds and looks the best though. You wont get much gain from any other axel-back anyway. I dont know why people are so negative about the TRD exhaust...

Dude, the cool sounds of the Injen and other catbacks DEFINITELY give like 65 hp!!!!!!! Noob

But on a more serious note, I agree with you completely. If you get one of the catbacks, it sounds like you're driving a weedeater.

I bought the TRD exhaust mainly for looks and sound (read: not a fartcan). With the Injen intake, it sounds a lot better when you get on it. I'm not interested in a full exhaust system because I don't want the headaches that come with having one (the CEL issues and the droning noise when cruising).
