Can't decide on a tire size RS3.0 Xb
Hi everyone, so I was on the tech forums and there are a lot of pages on tires, there are a lot of sizes that fit. I could not find anything specific to my issue. I wanted to get feedback from the people in the NorthWest. I ordered 18 inch wheels. I am going with Nitto NeoGen ZR tires, cuz I love the way they handled on my Honda. I am left to decide between two options for tire sizes #1. 215 35 18 #2. 205 40 18 . The guy at the tire shop recommended option 1. and said that he had problems with an 04 Xb using option 2. I can’t understand that cuz it is only slightly taller, but not as wide. I would like option 2 because it would have a little more meat for all the lovely pot holes in the area and it is not as wide so it should be good for the rain. I was hoping I could use the 225 40 18’s in the garage from my Honda which only have about 4k miles on them until I cracked a rim, unfortunately those would not be an easy fit. Anyway I appreciate the feedback and any help.
It is not dropped and we do not have any plans to drop it.
I am most concerned with protecting the rim some but I may just have to go 215 35 18 I don’t want to have potential issues with the 205 40 18.

215/35/18 and TRD springs only (no shocks)... The ride is similar to stock, the drop cleans up the wheel gap and at 1.5 inches or so, you dont have to worry about how you approach driveways, speed bumps etc... I had this set up on an xB I had for a year.... dove 15,000 miles... no problems... If you are worried about protecting the rims.... the 205/40/18's wont help IMO... that happens with the driver...

Well I'm the driver and while I can say that I'm a safe and sane driver I am used to a more "SUV" drive and so I was the unfortunate one that did so much damage to Mo's rims on his Honda Accord. After spending $ after good $ to have the chrome repaired his brother cracked another one and we took them off and put them in the garage.
I'm not concerned about anything (as I will drive more cognizant of bumps/potholes) except I do not want that "scraping" sound/feeling that comes from the tires hitting the skirts when I turn corners. I want to prevent that the most.
And honey...it's "xB" not "Xb"...hehe.

First off, I drive it too!
Second, You careful? .... yah right. This coming from someone who hit a curb and took out my neon undercarriage lights within a week after we spent $300 on them and 200 to get them installed. And I won't even start listing stuff from the Honda, or that time you hit a pot hold and caused all your airbags to deploy in the Jetta side curtin ones knocked me in the head. That was funny though.
Xb, xB, Bb, bB at 12:30 am when I need to be sleeping I think everyone got the point.....
And there are no side skirts to worry about on this one. So there will be no grinding. That was only when I went with 225 45 18 on my Honda the 225 40 18's solved that problem.

CoreyAnn will pay any price to get what she wants quickly! I like to negotiate and get a deal.
I ordered the 215-35-18 should have them and the wheels on the box next week.
Thanks for the help everyone! I can't wait to see how it will look and drive.
