Default Need pics of AVN5435/5500/D1 on factory brackets.

I cant seem to figure out how to drill the holes in my stock brackets. I drilled holes in the small guides that are marked on it, but fitment isnt quite right. Ive been reading about a 1/4" back. Anyone care to snap the picture for the rest of us?

Eddy

there IS a god! Thank you sir, youve done a great service to the community =D

Edit: Hold on a sec, where does the metra kit to fill the gaps go? By the looks of the placement on the brackets, I wouldnt be able to close the radio door or screw the metra in place. The factory brackets appear to be in the stock position. Am i missing something?

I didn't use any dash kits, so there's a litte gap around the headunit.

Hmm, ok that sounds about right then =) Thanks for giving it a shot though man =P

Someone please take a picture of an AVN with the metra kit so we can all see the location of the brackets and the metra kit.

actually, that picture shows the stereo attached to the bracket using drilled holes. the original bracket holes are the ones not being used right next to the screws. if you look at your bracket, there are some indentations which is where it appears the holes were drilled.

study this picture from the tech section and you'll see what i mean.

look at the two white arrows towards the middle. they are pointing out the indentations that need to be drilled. (ignore the othe two white arrows and the red arrows. those are for something else) the other indentation that needs to be drilled is just below towards the middle. compare this image to the one above and it'll make sense.

Hmm so the radio is held in place with two screws on each side instead of 4? That makes more sense then =)
