Is this the same Vegas trip we've been talking about? If so, that's kind of week of Scion to put it two weeks after the Invasion. Guess I won't be going to Vegas :tap: :tap:

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Wow ^^^^^^^^^^^^

Unfortunetly I was afraid this might happen. Now the group divides and lessens
turnouts for both events scheduled. What a shame -- A month apart would have
been much better for our group as a whole.

Sorry -- Just my 2 cents

Totally agree^^

That is why Mark is going to still fight to move it back to November. The date that is posted on Scionetics is the date he is still pushing for. We will se... :nails:

What is SEMA? Remember, some of us are new to the Scion family.

SEMA is not a SCION event, its the largest trade show regarding vehicles ever. I'm not sure if you're familair with it but its like CES only all for cars instead of electronics and other stuff. SEMA is an awesome event to attend since they have basically anything car related you could be interested in at this event including motorcycles.

I'm sure if you do a google search you can get some sites with pics from previous years at SEMA, the pics are definetely worth checking out.

Hello all

I work for ATTIK and we are organizing this event on behalf of the Scion Denver Region, and I wanted to try and give you guys a bit of a background to how this date came about.

I can promise you that the 10/7 date was not settled upon without great consideration for the events and meets surrounding it.

The original date we were looking at was going to be the same weekend as the Scion Invasion. The Invasion started out as a relatively small local meet, which has caught the imagination of a much broader owner audience, and therefore we obviously did not want to clash with that.

We were then going to move it to 10/14, but that is the date of Hot Import Nights in Phoenix.

The venues we are looking to book do not have availability on 10/21, and Halloween weekend in Vegas is crazy and impossible to book anywhere.

Moving into November is unfortunately not an option as it greatly reduces our venue and partnership options for the event.

This leaves us with 10/7.

We are very aware that this date is close to the Invasion date, and is not ideal.
However, we want to make Exprescion LV an amazing experience and we have to work around what is available.

What we are planning is something very special. If anyone knows someone from NorCal who attended this year’s SF Exprescion, I’m sure they’ll tell you how much fun it was. Our plans for Vegas are even better.

We regret that some of you will not be able to attend. This year should be the first of many annual Vegas Scion events, so hopefully all those who cannot attend this time, might make it next year.

Please watch this space over the next few weeks, as we begin to announce the venue(s), music & performance acts, Scion owner benefits plus much more.

Big thanks

ATTIK (on behalf of Scion)

I think the issues and concerns that the community has is that there seems be a lack of settling on a date sooner and now the year is coming to a close so Scion Denver Region has to pick a date and it just happens to make it hard for the majority to attend. Originally from the D&S region this meet was going to take place in May/June, but Scion wanted to step up and take part in this great community which is TOTALLY Awesome and please do not get any of use wrong about THAT. So we waited and waited and waited for what seemed like forever.

If you havent you can refer this thread from Feb to see the progress on this event

http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=107164&sid=be3ba6e88a4daca7b90f47d67fd6ba28

Seems to me that many peeps here just wanting to see something happen sooner. We were to believe May then June then July then August now October??? Business is business and we all know how corporations work. It is a slow long processa and it takes time to reach a consensus.

-The Scion Invasion event was announced in April and has been a staple event from the beginning for this region with the backing of Scion according to what we have read and heard here. And it two weeks before this Exprescion event.

- HIN PHX has been on the calendar since Jan of this year which is the week after Exprescion.

All this makes it really hard for the masses to attend or have the cash flow to make it all possible. While some can attend whatever they when they want. Having this many Top quality shows and events all so close together we will see how many will attend all of them. Good luck to all that go and I wil be thinking about whether attending myself. First inclination is to decline, but damn I love Vegas!!

Chad, I couldn't have said it any better myself.
Thanks for explaining how the D&S region feels, because I don't think you left a single thing out. I would love to go to Vegas, but the date is just not an option. As Chad said, two weeks after the Invasion and a week before HIN, they must think we have tons of cash or something. :tap:

Sorry, but I am dissapointed in Scion for picking this week, regardless of the reasons.

well im glad that Scion is doing all these events but what really hurts them is that there are too many shows lined up all within a month, which hurts all the show turnouts. 4 me living here in NM I dont wanna see the Invasion show lose people wanting to attend because of the other shows but we all cant stop that. I too wanted to go to the Vagas meet but cash flow is a lot more for that than Invasion, plus I gotta represent my state!

My sentiments are along the same lines, planning large events are tough and I can respect the business. I have to say that I am very disappointed in the decision and the overall handling of this event. I have some high reaching friends in Denver, I would normally never post this on an open forum and keep it to the PM.

This originated as a local event and started very early in the year to allow other SCION comminutes to participate. Due to events in/outside our region has now dictated the events schedule so far into the year. This has now become an inconvenience for a good number of our members which tops out at several hundred, and more so for our very active show cars who have to make hard decision on schedules and budgets.

I will be at SEMA also showing and likely participating at HIN in AZ. I will have to review my schedule and make the appropriate decision to participating.

I would hope that SCION looks at this “overall” process/events as a much larger issue that needs to be addressed internally.

One other thing that is frustrating is as you all have said, you guys started planning this back in February. I was not an owner at that time, but from talking to Mark at Camelback, he gave Scion a date that would be great for all the members here in D&S and Scion has seemed to have just ignored that. I can respect all that goes into scheduling these events, but to isolate the region that got things rolling is not nice. Guys and gals, please correct me if I am wrong. I want to try and understand this as much as possible.

Thanks

I just checked on Scionetics.com and there are 66 people on the roll call, I think we should show Scion how many people this is effecting by removing your name if you won't be able to go (I already have) I think that the nubers should speak for them selves.

Sorry for the date people. For those of you able to go I am sure you will have a great time. Please don't let the date fiasco be your reason for not attending. If you can't make it, you can't make it but, let's still show the rest of the Scion community as much of the energy we can and are known for.

Whether you're rolling to Scion Invasion, SEMA, HIN or Scion Exprescion I will see if we can't still give away the prizes we had. Let's work and turn this event into as positive a showing as we can.

Thanks!

guys guys... its been a long process of deciding for them and i am sure it was very hard to decide on this date. right now it is 3 months out still so there is plenty of time to save money to go. i will be trying to go to show my support. vegas this past weekend was so much fun and next time should be even more fun!!! i spoke with the denver regional manager saturday night at extreme autofest and he really tried to pick a good date and that was the best date available for what is being planned. they werent getting any help from the LA region either.

im sorry some of you feel the way you do but im sure it was very hard for them in making this decision. the denver regional said he would really like to see the support from our group especially so if you can you should definitely try to make this one. it is not even a car meet or anything. it is scion showing their appreciation for us and getting hotel discounts and renting out clubs for us to have fun and hang out.

i for one am still going to scion invasion still and would not back out of that but i will also be saving my pennies to attend the vegas trip as well. i think everyone here should try their hardest to make this one since scion worked so hard in putting it together and getting the date set.

People usually use the weekend before a show event to get their cars ready. Plus the time involved just attending.

But, like Kelly said before, we're a big Scion community and I think we can end up showing well at Scion Invasion, HIN and the Vegas run. I can understand choosing SEMA over Scion Exprescion but most of us aren't going to SEMA.

I emailed everyone on the Vegas run roll call about the changes. Please update your plans to attend right away.

Here is the hotel they're working with:
The Palms Casino Resort offers its guests some of the city's most spectacular views of the Las Vegas Strip, unique rooms, memorable nightlife venues and a bevy of dining options.

From ghostbar on the 55th floor to Rain Las Vegas just off the casino, the Palms is the hotel for the MTV generation. (http://www.vegas.com/resorts/palms/)

Looks interesting but, I'm old and what would I know anyway! :silly:

I have a few Q's.

1. Considering it's about a 5-6 hour drive to Vegas. Why are we waiting until 5:00pm on Saturday evening to leave?

2. How long is the event supposed to last? Some of us HAVE to be home for work on Monday morning.

Thanks

While I agree with you here Sxxypic, There are some things to consider like cost to go to HIN, Geting cars ready for HIn like Mark suggested, Detailing of the vehicles for HIN, The extra expense in OCT now ot think about with the holidays right around the corner. Not everyone has a lot of money to spend in the first place let alone on car shows and trips. That is why it is such a bummer that more of the group prolly wont be attending the Vegas since teh meet took forever to lock down without seeing how it would work for the D&S folks who started the idea. Besides from what I hear right now this Vegas event is a Hip-hop event which will lessen the group more since the car sho guys prolly wont be attending.

I hope the event is a good one, but I have decided that I wont be attending a Hip-hop show in Vegas.

You know i think that we should just be glad that we own a car whose manufacturer takes and spends time and money on it's owners. There is no other company that puts forth so much effort. I will be going to this party cuz it sounds like it will be a neat opportunity- yes i am disappointed we all as a group didnt get to go and have a blast in las vegas but we have other things we can do, and maybe plan this again later. I just wouldnt want Scion to think we are unappreciative and the dates this thing falls on isnt their fault- it would be very hard to please everyone's date needed. As it falls i will be leaving for New York the instant i get back from there. So lets just all try and go still and have fun- i want to see the strip with the neat people from our unclub..

Hi guys

We wanted to address a few of the points made here and give you an update on where we are with the event...

The first thing to realize about this event is that it's different from a lot of the Scion events that take place. While the event is geared towards attracting as many Scion owners as possible it's also about spreading the word about what Scion is all about to the masses as well.

Check out the last Exprescion to give you an idea:
http://extranet.attik.com/~scion/exprescion2006/

This is not just a hip-hop party. Exprescion is an event that combines cutting edge music with performance art all packed into an amazing environment. Boy do we have some amazing things cooking for the Las Vegas edition as well. If you've been to Vegas you know getting into the clubs can be an ordeal but being an owner means you'll be able to head to the front of the line with VIP access to multiple events that weekend including the main blow out jam happening Saturday October 7th.

We're working on amazing hotel packages for owners at a top Vegas casino, a "Take over the Vegas Strip" owner drive by, and an event unlike you've ever seen (unless you came to the SF Exprescion ;>) going from 9pm-10am - fully Vegas style.

The event is in October which should give you enough time to prepare. You really don't want to miss this one.

To answer utah_boy2's question - Yes, there will be a website to register. It will be at http://www.exprescion.com/
At present, the SF site is still there.

Keep watching this space.

Heads up on Vegas traffic and parking, the money you save on a hotel you will blow more than you saved on parking, valua, gas and cabs. I opt to stay on the strip and at/near the event for easy access and walking, the higher price for the hotel will save more than you know.

Traffic on or near the strip is grid locked, you can walk faster and see more.
Parking at the casinos or to get parking at a destination, impossible.
Cabs, virtually useless anywhere near around the strip or to get to one of the strip.

I would encourage ATTIK to get this put to bed now, if you do not. The cost will be to high and the group will be fragmented, I would expect a high drop out due to cost and inconvenience.

OK this is starting to get ridiculous, what's up with Hotels, which hotel is the party going to be at?

[Evil Dave - Thanks for the shout out!]

ATTIK,

Do we have any idea of when the online registration will be posted on the site?

I would have to agree with Kelly. I go to Vegas every year and traffic and parking gets worse and worse every time. ATTIK needs to put a fire under this thing and get moving or no one is going to show.

Adrian, thanks for posting this.
I'd like to expand the info update for the event:

As I'm sure most of you have seen, the main site is:
http://www.scion.com/exprescion/

If you have not already registered for your free VIP tickets, please do so!
You will need to bring your ticket with you on the Saturday night.

We have pulled out all the stops to make this weekend as much fun as possible for all the Scion owners who want to participate.
The music, dance and art talent are all going to be awesome. Take a look at the bios on the website.
The location, Empire Ballroom, is one of the coolest places on the strip, with a full stage, multiple levels and a outdoor patio area.

Be sure to check out the previous events in SF and Boston, to get the vibe for what's in store for the 1st Annual Exprescion LV.

On top of that, we've put together some VIP activities and privileges exclusively for Scion owners….

OWNER VIP EXPERIENCE

Check out the special owner section of the site:
http://www.scion.com/exprescion/owner/

FRIDAY:

- FREE access to the amazing Voodoo lounge perched on top of the Rio hotel for our Exprescion pre-event. The views of the strip are amazing.

SATURDAY:

- Scionic Boom – take over of the Vegas Strip!
8pm at the Arts Factory in Las Vegas.
We’re planning an amazing take over of the Vegas strip with Scions as far as the eye can see on a special route to the Empire Ballroom for Exprescion.
All Scion vehicles will also have their own VIP parking section.
Full details on http://www.scion.com/exprescion/owner/

- Exprescion VIP Celebration - 10pm – 11pm
All Scion owners are invited to a VIP Celebration before the doors open to the general public at the Empire Ballroom. This celebration will feature drink specials and an amazing surprise performance.

- Exprescion VIP Area - 11pm – 9am (Yes, that's 9am!!)
All Scion owners will have access to a special VIP area all night long. This area will feature some hot surprises and drink specials as well.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to send me Private Message. My name is Andy.

Thanks!

what happened to the party friday night being in the ghost lounge on top of the Palms? I see drink specials but in an earlier post I remember seeing "free drinks" during VIP party? Will we have a police escort during this drive down the strip? If not I think it could get to be a pain getting broken up at lights constantly and dealing with traffic on the strip.
