got it back from the paint shop.. but.. um.. where can i get some wire mesh for the grill in socal? i mean good mesh.. like this:

u can get some at autozone or pep boys or any auto shop

 

I've only seen cheap tuner fake mesh (like I have on my grille) there. You can get some pretty good stuff on ebay as far as stainless steel mesh goes. I'm thinkin about making an RS2.0 type grille for my IIP tC. I say check there.

 

whatever mesh you get, take it and get it powdercoated with rust protection. I would get them in black. I really do not like silver/alum. mesh. This will make any mesh stand out. Wont cost alot to do...

If its stainless steel, it won't rust.

 

go to the hardwre store and get the gutter gard... it's a perfect size cut out.. you can just stick it right over.

 

Just out of curiosity .. how much did you pay to get that painted ??

i think if you head down to M1 AUTOBODY they can hook it up. i know they do custom grilles, and they may have that material, or maybe something that you will like more.

Well.. here it is.








the fitment isn't as good as i thought it was going to be. But it works. There are no holes for the bottom nuts to screw it into, and I didn't have all the tools necessary to put it together correctly, so i think i'm gonna have to bring it to a shop and have them fit it on properly. The entire bottom is just hanging right now.

My kit did have a line across the front, and i asked my paint guy to cover it up with bondo before painting. The bumper is a whole lot heavier then the stock one too.

nice i like that front bumper a lot. i would just need to get some fogs (does teh M3 fogs fit in there? ) and seen as how i have a flint mica tC i would leave the mesh Silver

also i think it would look awesome with the OEM scion gfx would look nice and clean

 

Does the paint not match or is it me?

 

Issues with paint matching always occur when painting a front bumper. I dont know i guess its a diff. material or something. Cuz if you look at his rear bumper and the new painted one they match.

I bet if you were to take a pic of your stock bumper it will still look like it didnt match. Its just the way it works, i dont know why.
