Default tC owner: xB a better choice for me?

I'm 18 and live in Upstate NY. I am planning on moving to NJ in a month or two for a better job. I'm not sure if I should stick with my tC or get an xB.

I complain that the tC is slow, so IDK how I'd feel about the xB. Though I've heard stock MANUAL xB's being faster than AUTO tCs. I LOVE the interior of my tC. But the gas milage sucks, along with COMFORTABLY.

I've test driven an xB before, and I was MONDO comfortable. AND I LOVE the feeling of it. It feels like your driving a truck, but low to the ground. Simply brilliant. And it's MAD EASY to get into. The 4 doors is also appealing since I'll be back in NJ and will have a lot of old friends that will want to chill.

I've known about Scion about a year before the cars were released. And I wanted an xB since day one. But my parents hated it because it was a "box on wheels" and they bought me a Mustang. Haha. I wanted a economic 103HP car, and they get me a Muscle Car.

So I have a tC now, since January.. . but am SO tempted owning an xB.

I'd be losing:
-153HP (new quote of 05-06's) to 103HP
-Hot interior w/ panorama sunroof.
-Hot, slick, stylish looks.

But gain:
-Better MPG
-Comfort
-Space
-One-Of-A-Kind Box Look
-Better Turning

And hopefully the xB would be cheaper insurance. It's gonna be a lot more expensive going back to NJ, but will have a better job and can PARTY!

I NEED A MONDO AMOUNT OF COMMENTS. I NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU ALL!

xB's are awesome. I'm so happy I bought one ratehr than a tC. Quality is higher with xB's too.

It sounds like you'd really enjoy the xB more. You gotta go with what works for you, and what you like.

Don't let us "convince" you to keep the tC if you know that you will regret it and keep thinking about the xB! And who cares what other people think, you are the one driving it after all

You posted this in the tC forum though, so a lot of the responses might be a bit biased

Aw wat the hell? I just lost 7 more hp!?

It seems as though you'd be really comfortable with the xb, so i guess that would be the move you should make. It's your car and what ever makes you happy is the way to go.

Thanks guys. I'm still not sure what I'm going to do. Though I'm leaning to the xB. If I don't move to NJ, I'll move to Albany.. the capital of NY. So the xB's city MPG would be a nice fit.

If I get an xB, this is what I want it to look like. It's owned by a SL member. Though he just sold it... :'( I would have bought it.

I don't know what you're talking about when it comes to mileage. I get very good mileage in my tC (equal to or ABOVE epa mileage)

seems like you are always talking about trading the tC in for something else.... if you like the box get it. Since your complaining about the tC being soooooo slow have you tried to improve that at all? Oh well if you like the xB feel so much go for it.

But at the same time i know if i traded in my tc i would miss it 2 much. my dream is to keep my tc. and in another year or 2 buy an xb. That way i have the best of both worlds and be sportin pure Scion!

well I just bought my TC in April and now I 'm thinking I should have bought a XB or XA because everything will be cheaper and even though I like the TC.

I still feel that way sometimes but in reality you will be losing money if you financed itbecause you won't get what you paid or how much you owe on the TC and that will just roll over on the financed XB, I don't know maybe I'm wrong but I think thats how it works.

while the tC is definitely slow as hell, poor handling, bad gear ratios..

...the guy talking about the snow in Jersey is very correct. for that matter, anywhere that it snows you're going to hella regret having a car thats <1" from the ground. the tC is bad enough in the show, the xB is probably atrocious.

{ps: sorry to bash the tC, i do own one, but anyone else that does own one knows those things are true}

I have a tc and my brother has an xb so I get to drive whatever I want. I love my tc its sporty comfortable and looks great. My brothers xb has been lowered, has ground effects, and 18's. It looks tight as well, and there is a ton of room. It isn't near as quick as my tc. On the highway he gets like 3-4 more mpg thatn I do and about the same in the city. It really depends on what you want. Either way they are both great vehicles in there own way.

The tC has 5.2" stock, and the xB has 6.1" stock.

Your gonna have less power with an xB believe it or not.
The complaint about power doesn't really compute... In addition to that, why would someone wanna trade an auto tC for a stick xB ? (i'd go for a auto xB "if" i were in your shoes so I can relax..) The xB is probably better @ turning straight from the factory (infact i believe JDM has an AWD version), however you've got to drive a tC with sways & suspension mods to truely see what your baby should be doing.
Snow on the other hand must be a biotch!
Ahh... SoCal....
Anyways, my guess is the xB would be better suited for snow conditions (height wise), however maybe its me not understanding but you wannna be able to kickass in cornering AND daily drive in snow??? Sorry to burst the bubble, but you can't have the best of both Worlds. You can't drop it to the floor and expect it to drive like butter through snow.
Either way it sounds like your already set on getting the xB so just do it!
