I have searched over and over again.. not only this site, but the internet as well.

I was wondering if the AIT racing hood, the one with the vent on top comes clear coated or not. So far the only hood i know of that comes cleared is the one that Racing Solution sells. im not interested in any other hood so please do not discuss it.

Mods please feel free to lock and delete thread after question has been answered.. question is:

DOES THE AIT RACING HOOD COME WITH A CLEAR COAT

dude i want that motor fx hood.. why the hell won't anyone ship that thing...

 

okay so i called AIT.. and what they said is that they DO NOT come cleared. they said that they do come with a clear gel coat and that if we clear it it will eventually fade.. im like WTF!! cuz i thought when you clear a hood that it does not fade, but the AIT rep was saying something else.

he also told me that they are workin on a new hood that will come out in september, which will also be vented!!!!!!!

 

yeah it's highly recommended to get a cf hood cleared even if it already has it
