You can pull the ebrake and slide sideways. Deffinetly not drifting tho.

not many people are pushing enough power to drift a tC...probably just jersymike/travis/zpi/dezod are about the only ones who can attempt it.

You can have 600 hp and not "drift"

First, there is the actual original "drift" which is a cornering maneuver of slightly pushing the rear end out using the power of the engine... RWD

Then there is the burn the tires off and slide the car around fast and furious drifting sport :P (Ok, it is fun to do and takes skill.. but I hardly call it a real sport.. just my opinion though) ... still a RWD thing..

On a FWD all you are doing is @$$ dragging. And it takes little power to do it. I can go out and get up to speed and use the ebrake to put the car sideways.. power the car to keep it there.. whip it around.. whatever.. but you are still just sliding. Mainly just wasting your rear tires.

So no.. you cant "drift" a tC any more than you can an xB, an rxs or any other fwd car for that matter.

I tried. About hit a telephone pole doing about 35. It is very hard to control. Anyways our cars are Fwd and not supposed to drift. Dont do it, you will wreck ur car.

whether or not a guy did it.. it is still not drifting. The term came from racing. On a long, sweeping corner, you come in a little hot, and power it enough so that the rear end begins to drift a LITTLE.. as a matter of fact, many times you barely hear the squeal.. it is not a huge, tire smoking thing. That would lose too much energy. You power it out a little, keeping the power on so the rear wheels are pushing you back down the turn. Saving you from the hot entry. The "sport" of drifting is simply an exageration of that in more of a show fashion.

Hell ya, i do m@d drifto in the school parking lot, the same one that they kick us out during football games for visitors. Yes, kick out the paying students and let the visitors park. *kickout = ticket* Hmm.. besides butt dragging, is it also "power sliding" or is that just a term for rwd cars, i forgot. :silly:

I know that. But it's fun to get a little e-brake action every once and a while and call it drifting.

zELDA...you posed the same question in the xB lobby and this answer is the most appropriate that i read. it was from jamjammo:
As the newbie of this forum, I run the risk of ridicule and harrassment and flaming ... but ...there is NO WAY a front-wheel-drive-vehicle can EVER drift. read about it from any search engine. i get all my sources from the SR20forum community. I am in the process of selling my 1992 SE-R cause my wife and i just bought a 2004 xB what you are attempting to do is butt-Dragging - simply put.
Sorry homie, but you just cant drift a front wheel drive car.
Once everyone in a FWD vehicle understands that, and the physics of what makes a drift, a drift, there will be no mo silly questions - m'mkay?
