Default Whistle Whistle sound?

So...when i accelerate with my tC it gives a small whistle noise that sounds like it is coming from my driver side of the engine. I just installed my CAI and have TRD exhuast but i have had the whistle before. Now again, it is only when i press the gas pedal. I dont know if anyone else gets this or not. Oh, im running a 2.0 RS Manual w/ Injen CAI, TRD exhuast, and some misc mods if it helps to isolate the problem. THanks guys

The whistle has always been there, the aftermarket intake just amplifies it, it's normal, everyone has it.

I just installed my Injen CAI also and currently have TRD exhaust and have the same whistle. It's normal so don't worry!

Actually the whistle is the way your car is saying keep modding me!

it is the air rushing past the trottle plate, when you put a cold air intake on it amplifies the noise.

The whistle is actually what brought me to ScionLife in the first place. Right after I bought my car, I heard the whistle, so I searched on Google and it brought me to ScionLife. I got my answer and have been posting ever since.

the whole point of the CAI is to make the whistle louder you should've known this when you bought it

^ i disagree. While its amusing at times I find it quite annoying. I've had cai's on many cars and the typical sound is a quick whistle/woosh and the accompanied grunty waahhhh.

Mine seems to whistle at those "given" accelerator pedal ranges only when the car is in gear. I revved and held it at the usual spot where I get the whistle in neutral at about 70mph and I got the initial suck sound but no whistle. I put it back in gear and there it was. I tried it again at a dead stop in neutral ... nothing. As soon as I drive away its back. It makes me wonder if it is in fact the intake or not???

the whistle sounds great once you step on it since it does amplify the 'sexiness' of your engine lol!

It's the whole under load thing. An exhaust sounds different under load than it does free reving as does an intake.

Oh and, BTW, first gear has always made me mad since day 1 because it doesn't sound the same as the other gears. Shifting into second and hitting the gas is where the sound comes to life.

A friend of mine has trd exhaust only and has the wistle. not as loud as mine but its their. we spend some time with a stethascope and found that the majority of the noise comes from around the M.A.S.

It only does when under a loud so you can imagine how hard it was to find it. holding a tool to your ear and trying not to get hit by a car at the same time .

I thinks its kinda funny cause people are always asking us if its boosted cause they say it sounds like a small tubo spoolin up.

and then everyone who pretends their tC is turbo because of the "whistle" gets their asses mopped by something as simple as a mini cooper type S. god-damn its like reading the next screenplay to fast and the furious on this board...

What whislte?!? I don't hear anything... I guess it's from all that bass music in the 80s, you know like RUN DMC, Whoodini and KRSone.
