View Full Version : tC's with HRE's / What Rims Are These?
ryphlex 07-24-2006, 05:05 AM Anyone here on the boards or know of anyone who owns a tC that has
HRE wheels on them? I've always wanted a set of these rims personally.
Well, with the influence of all my buddies who all have M3's with rims
from this company also.
If you don't know what I'm talking about... here.

They ARE pricey, but I still love em'.
ALSO....
Anyone know what rims are these?
I saw this picture on the http://www.viniati.com website browsing around
for bodykits and I happened to stumble upon this image under the
Obsidian V2 Flex Fiber Wide Body Kit

Kilo6_one 07-24-2006, 05:17 AM Not alot of people other then some are willing to drop 3-4 grand on some wheels on there Tc, most ive ever seen are on show cars that require really wide rims, like the blue one you have pictured here. I love HRE's........who cares if they are pricey, they are true works of art and worth every penny.
sciontc313 07-24-2006, 05:25 AM i heard HRE's only make wheels if you request/order to them, they will make you custom set of HRE for your particular car.... and it cost like 3 to 5 grand
SF2K4 07-24-2006, 05:29 AM Do they come with a knife and can opener, too?
grant13 07-24-2006, 05:35 AM don't get the hre's.......I Forge wheels are the same thing for less. It's not a knock off company either. The guys that own I Forge left HRE because of some dispute or something like that and started I Forge http://www.iforged.com/v3/wheels.php check them out.
.
thisisdudewhoru 07-24-2006, 05:35 AM They look like painted Hres on the blue tc. Not sure tho. Look at the emblem closely. I believe HRE makes wheels that look like that.
thisisdudewhoru 07-24-2006, 05:36 AM the lip also resembles a HRE wheel. compare it with the wheels you have posted. They both have "step-like" lips.
Kilo6_one 07-24-2006, 05:38 AM yeah, i forged rims are good wheels, so are j_line redgernie and a long list of others........
honestly when you spend 4 grand on wheels another thousand is not going to matter when it comes to forged mulit peice. the only down side of multipeice forged rims is that they are high maintance. You need to torque the bolts every so often, and they tend to leak.......
my neighbor has some asanti 3 peice rims on his M3 and he is constantly taking the car into the wheel shop to get his nuts torqued......i know it sounds bad LOL

I believe these are the ones on the car except just painted.
sry for the triple post. just trying to help out.
ryphlex 07-29-2006, 07:09 AM Thanks for the responses guys.
I have another question.
Anyone else suggest a company that sells rims
with nice looking lips like those? I'm interested in
the deep-dish look.
SquallLHeart 07-29-2006, 07:13 AM how did i know that somewhere in this thread was going to be a picture of neil tjin's tC? :P
ryphlex 07-29-2006, 07:13 AM Because it's teh sex (:
tC9o9 07-29-2006, 07:17 AM it was.. ever since he painted it blue it lost all sponsors it seems
ryphlex 07-29-2006, 07:23 AM Hmmm.
What do you guys think about the Axis Wide Tracks?
I saw this on an xB here on the forums and I was wondering
how they would look on a BSP tC.
Photoshop anyone?

tC9o9 07-29-2006, 07:27 AM i have seen them on a tC..
imho they dont look good, they look small
ryphlex 07-29-2006, 07:29 AM I was kind of thinking that they would, but if anyone
can post pictures or something, it would be great.
tC9o9 07-29-2006, 07:35 AM the owner is here on scion life.. he has a blue tC.
just look around, i cant remember how the hell i found the pic.. sorry
davedavetC 07-29-2006, 04:11 PM thsoe c22 are sick. i like those axis wheels too.
Jimmy 07-31-2006, 03:39 AM i dont think hre's make wheels in the 5x100 application
and note that they're pretty heavy
SquallLHeart 07-31-2006, 04:02 AM ... HREs are pretty much all custom-made wheels.. thus why they're so expensive... so yes.. i'm sure they make 5x100
they're mostly show.. i doubt you'll want to run multi-thousand dollar rims on the track risking any damage to them. though.. i do believe they make competition rims. still... expensive.
TATTOO 07-31-2006, 02:19 PM i dont think hre's make wheels in the 5x100 application
and note that they're pretty heavy
HRE'S are made with blank patterns so when someone orders them they can be drilled for that specific application
