The only people that can change your insurance is yourself. Most insurance will not let any individual to add or subtract coverage without speaking to the person who holds the policy.

i called my insurance company ahead of time before the car came in to tell them that i was getting a new one....this was all that i was instructed to do by the dealership....also looking over the forms yesterday they all said that there would be collison added on to my car....its mandatory when you finace a car......when i went back to the dealership to tell them they said that it was not something that happened often and they were shocked.....

I have bought quite a few cars over the years including the 05 xB last week. I had to sign the loan papers stating that I would have full coverage on the vehicle. All the dealer asks for is proof of insurance. Personally I want full coverage anyway to cover me if something did happen.
You're lucky you checked. In my state the lender can charge you for mandantory collison and comp at OUTRAEGEOUS rates (hundreds extra on your car payment a month). The lender could care less if you have liability. As said before, only you can change your coverage.
