What kinda brand Oil is in the tC?...

I have alwayz used Valvoline brand...Is the Toyota brand good stuff???
Since I will be using the 3 FREE oil changes...Just curious if its as good as Valovoline brand..

i would switch to full synthetic and never go back.

I always run mobil 1 full synthetic 5-w 30
Its more expensive but it is worth it.

 

I agree mobile one full synthetic... if you change it yourself its the same as getting an oil change.

i agree with the mobil one, but if you dont want to use synthetic, then dont...the stock is synthetic, of what brand i have no clue, but it appears to be a pretty good oil(after one change the color wasn't bad, nor the texture)

i have had good luck with valvoline in higher mileage vehicles, i have had good luck with quaker state(both synthetic)....its just a personal choice...

It's probably Toyota brand motor oil. 5w30... Ask your dealership service guy.

 

I think most car manufacturers dont really use their own oil. It may say Toyota but it can be a slight deviation of another brand. I know that Honda motor oil is actually Mobil (the non synthetic one).

However, not all Toyota dealerships use Toyota-brand for oil changes.

 

I use Royal Purple engine and gear oil.

 

OEM oil is synthetic??? would never have guessed. im using the free oil changes and then switching to synthetic

 

My dealership uses Castrol Syntec Blend... Im going to switch to Castrol Synthetic when Im ready..

I was going to say..No way a Dealership would use Synthetic as for the 3 FREE oil changes....lol....So all I have to do is ask what kinda oil they use at the dealership??...

 

actually, new 06+ camry, highlander, and solara 4-cyls. use syn. oil. i work at a toyota express lube place and we just got new guns installed to pump this along with our 5w-30 .
but the syn. is 0W-20. the tc is not affected for some reason.
