All three pulley's are lightweight pulley's and do the same exact thing. There are only subtle difference's ZPI= abit lighter than the rest, Perrin= was the most popular and Agency = at one time was the cheapest($). So it may really come down to price, color and avalability. I believe all are available and in stock at most places that sell them, they all come in simular colors (silver) and all are around the same price. I would say ZPI, but i am just a wee bit partial to them, but they do make great stuff.

this topic has been covered an obscene number of times. please do a search for these pulleys. at least that's what i did before i decided on getting my agency power.

they all do the same thing, all have about the same weight. agency pulleys come in more colors than the other 2. it all comes down to design preference and brand loyalty. you pick.

So Billy... now that you have "insider information." What is the truth? Does ZPI use the Agency Power pulley? It really makes no difference to me. Just curious.

I am not sure which one to go with Either. Everyone who has them, what difference did you notice with them?

your revs come much easier. thus, climbing hills is a tad less stressful, it's a bit easier on local cruising and highway driving is bit more invigorating. mpg should also improve just a little.

Honestly Dustin, I dont know.. I heard a rumor they were made by the same manufacturing company, but that is just a rumor. If I ever find out the truth I will let you know.

just in case those of you that didnt know this, almost ALL manufactuers look at already exisiting products and change the color and the name. Just to give you an example HKS (yes the real HKS) rips off their Celica muffler design from the TRD muffler, so when ZPI uses the agency power puller im not surprised one bit. Look at both they are exactly the same, maybe a little bit bigger and with a different finish but basically its the SAME THING. I wouldnt consider it a rip-off because you are getting a quality part, but your paying more from the brand name. $#it happens look at Inifiti and Nissan, same thing, just a different look and sound, but down to the bear essentials they ARE ALL THE SAME!

I installed my pulley today. Butt Dyno noticed no performance gain or any difference. But humidity was 81% here and the temp was 90 out. Not going to feel anything there!

hahah. Vivid isnt agency power.

Kinda weird cuz before I ordered an Agency from vivid, they claimed to have 60 or so in stock. Not a week later I ordered and they gave me a call saying that there were no Agencys in stock, so they would send me a Perrin at no extra charge. A few days later I got the Perrin in.

Unfortunantly your wrong agency power is a division of vivid racing I have independently verified it with a few companies including sport compact only .call them and ask them agency power is a division of vivid racing they own the waterjet they cut the parts then they are relabled and sold under diffrent names by other companies. you can also verify this if your good at searching public buisness license records because they are the same owners. for buisness purposes some people aren't going to want this info out but it is the best prices I've found on pulleys and availablity are just calling vivid because they sell their own pulley cheaper then they do on their own AP website. you have to learn the game with aftermarket parts most parts are made by somone else and rebadged under a diffrent companies name they may change a minute detail like a color. Just like if I told you that you can make more horsepower by keeping your stock airbox intact and taking out the plastic screen in front of the mass airflow sensor and the carbon filter and dropping in a K&N then with any aftermarket air intake. you would tell me I was crazy but the scion computer is so sensative the car actuallly doesn't like cold air and when the mass airflow sensor detects cold air it throws the ecu into a diffrent map and you lose power. On an XB stock I saw a guy on the dyno lose 2 horsepower with an injen intake but when he modified his stock box like the echo forums recomend he picked up roughly 3 and a half horsepower. I'm sure people who love their intakes will argue that all day long but our ecu is very weird in the scion it works against us. your not going to see horsepower gain with a pulley but you will feel it in your seat because it free's up the motor alot. But I am 100 percent without a doubt right on agency power and vivid racing being one in the same. The Zpi pulley isn't made by them in fact ZPI outsources most of their work thats why you have to waight so long for your turbo kits yes they do some of the work not to discredit them like tuning and they do the measurments for their kits to be made but they don't make the stuff in house. and there pulley is just rebadged. And word to the wise on headers for those of you who don't know a mandrel pipe bender runs close to a half a million dollars so I highly doubt if any of the header companies for the scions make them in house except for DC I know they have one. I don't know if strup has one or if they just have their pipes bent and sent in and then Tig weld them. And the TRD header from japan they defeinently have a mandrel bender there. Mandrel benders allow you to bend pipe smoothly. This also means intake companies are either rebadging or making there own desighn and outsourcing the work. but anyway welcome to the world of aftermarket racing parts. how they are made marketed and sold

if their distributors are back ordered they are going to take priority over your order bottom line they have to keep the distributors happy and there have been some pulley setbacks check other threads. so I am not suprised by your comment but AP is vivid

Some mandrel benders may sell for as much as 1/2 a million dollars, but that is hardly where they start. You can pick up a mandrel bender for under $35,000. And that will do up to 3" tubing. Sure, not every exhaust shop is going to have one, but surely most of the aftermarket MANUFACTURERS can afford them.

Sure you can option them up quite a bit with different control options, mandrels and the like. But it would take a whole lot to get a $35k mandrel bender up to the the $500k range.
