Anyone know if the auto-dimming/homelink mirror (option on the xA) will work in an xB? Through my experience, the homelink in my wife's car has a much better range than my regular garage remote...

Through my experience, the homelink in my wife's car has a much better range than my regular garage remote... XBman 07-06-2004, 03:16 AM it prob would work. It would be interestering to see if it did. Al-Truistic 07-06-2004, 07:20 AM Dang! I definitely want this in my xB...I wonder if it would work and how hard it would be to hook up? avus 07-06-2004, 09:12 PM i've been told it wouldn't cuz the mirror mount for both are different. the xA mounts on the windshield and the xB on the headliner part. Reno 07-06-2004, 09:27 PM i'm sure you can get an aftermarket mirror installed that would work on the xB. ecandlcubed 07-07-2004, 01:19 AM you would need really good adhesive to get the mount to glue on the windshield. i had no luck with the stuff sold at my local auto parts  . i believe the the mount comes with the replacement windshield so you don't have to glue to old one on. i can't find any aftermarket dimming mirror that would fit on the headliner. anyone has luck? dunar 07-07-2004, 11:20 AM The auto-dimming mirror part is less important to me than the homelink. Right now, I'm looking at MITO's Homelink Visor (http://www.mitocorp.com/homelink_visor.htm) (I've got an info request in through their website.) I also wonder if the auto-dimming mirror from the xA would fit on the mounting arm in the xB - the mirror mount "ball" seems smaller then I've seen on other cars. I wonder if it's the same between the Scions, tho.. That way I could avoid sticking anything to my windshield (I've already become accustomed to the great field of view in my xB and don't want to muck it up with a mirror!) mikochu 07-07-2004, 11:30 AM My parents have built-in homelinks in their vehicles. I modded my security gate remote to my high beams. Works well...and it's flashy (no pun intended?). People try to flash their high beams to open the gate too...doesn't work  XBman 07-08-2004, 02:36 AM woah thats pretty trick, but how do you use your high beams for regular driving?? mikochu 07-08-2004, 02:48 AM I use them like normal... I actually started using them more after I installed my gate remote...just to test the integrity of my mod. it's been about a month and a half and everything still works fine.
