Default Sachse Po Po 's

Duuude -

don't run blue lights in the front of your car in Sachse....

goin' down Pleasant Valley, minding my own business, with my wife and kid, going to dinner, a cop in a surburban busted a U on me and drove like 150mph to catch up to me, hit the lights... so I stop right in the lane and hit the hazards and wait for him.

The wife asks if I was speeding... I say hell no, it's the LEDs or the offroad hi-lights on the front.... I have 2 Hella lamps on a light bar and 2 blue LEDs stuck in the license plate holes on the front bumper....

He gets my license and insurance. tells me he pulled me over for having blue lights on my car. I have them on a switch so I just reached over and turned them off and said "they're off".

He asked why I had them, and I told him for decoration at shows and stuff. He informed me that only official and emergency vehicles may operate blue or red lights on the front of the vehicle in the great state of Texas.

He gave my papers back, and let me off with a verbal warning.
Which is pretty cool. Thanks, if you happen to read this.

I'll shut my lights off when I go into Sachse I promise.

Turn down your stereo there too - my kid got cited for that the other day...

Just a heads up for us rednecks that live out this way.

Hey sailor me and the wife saw you getting your driving certificate from sachse's finest last night(we were in her blue 350z) i was wondering what the deal was. do you live close to the location of your heinous violation? we live in hudson crossing just across from the elementary and middle school.

its more that you had them in a non-stock place i think. if a light doesn't come there stock they can pull you over no matter what color it is. and frankly puting any lights right there is just asking for trouble, IMO.

I have blue LEDs in my parking lights and i have driven with them on for a good while, but mine look just like randome blue dots and they don't project a real amount of light unless its dark and only they are on.
i also have said F*** to my front plate and have had it off for more than a month now. lookin to get those holes filled in soon.

Damn po-pos. Good you have the lights hooked up on a switch. I'll make sure I don't go that side of the town.

my switch is under the hood and the other day I showed someone my lights and then proceeded to drive home and forgot to turn them off. I am use to people looking at me but I was thinking there were more rubber neckers than usual. When I got out of the car in the garage is when I realized my underglows were on. Luckly no cops saw me I guess and never speed in Sachse, you will be caught!

actually the likes that frank has on the switch under the hood it makes perfect sense.

and I have driven home with my underglows on before, when I still had them on. I went from Grapevine to Grand Prairie and they were flashing blue at the time!

lucky me i didn't get caught.

texas cops take this shxt seriously. my buddy got pulled over for having too many blue lights in his civic. it was retarded but the cop just told him to turn them off and not drive around with the inside of his car looking like a "pepsi can."

dude they can still get you.
its against the law to have lights on in a non stock location on a vehicle, no matter what color they are.

but you'll have less problems with white ones i assume. why do you need to keep them on when your driving anyway?

I have some green LED's where the driving lights go in my mother in law's tc and when she went to go get her inspection done the guys at jiffy lube were questioning them, but when they looked in the book the only colors that are illegal are red and blue.

lol yeah green isnt illegal its just some cops around town dont like them. like the windshield washer lights.. cant have them on at night.... or even the rim lights for the air valve... that light when u drive.... kinda ridiculous to me. but oh well DPS is the one who makes those rules an regulations for motor vehicals....

well windsheild washer and air valve lights are not there stock so yea they would get you with that since they are more easily noticable, just like LEDs in lisence plate holes.

I have had blue LEDs in my parking lights forever, but they are not bright very bright unless its pretty dark and usually then I also have my headlights on anyway. I have not had any problems.

This is false. Because you can have underglow lighting of any color in Texas as long as the lighting bar/LEDs arnt actually seen. If you can just see the color then it is legal. Once you see the actual piece then you are in violation.

And if he puts clear or white in then it is also not a violation.
