View Full Version : Looking to do the killertc "performace package"
TheGreatTonge 08-01-2006, 12:42 AM is it really worth it...i do ALOT of highway driving and on my old car i had a full exhuast system on it and it was annoying on long dives. I want some more "umph" but eally don't want all the noise. Has anyone hee done this combo or a similar CAI and HEADER? What were the results and how did it sound...this looks like it might be my next purchase :nails:

BigMURR 08-01-2006, 12:00 PM Here you can do some research:

plus the many threads on the drivetrain and power section on other people's exhausts.
I prefer the full megan OEM style exhaust, I have it and do lots of highway driving
TheGreatTonge 08-01-2006, 02:22 PM really not what I was looking for...people on this site love to "reference"...I just wanted to know if anyone has done a header/cai combo and how they liked it...not reviews for various products...but whatvever
BigMURR 08-01-2006, 03:36 PM many people have just look at all the threads, takes 2 sec.
dp-_- 08-01-2006, 03:41 PM CAI & Header will sound terrible with alot of rasp. If you don't want alot of noise, don't get a header.
If you get a header, it will automatically be alot louder.
And again, like everyone else has said, it could be researched. People like to reference because they don't like to read the same posts that people like you like to create and spam the boards with.
WHAT'S THE BEST INTAKE?
WHAT IS THAT WHISTLING SOUND?
IS THE SKY BLUE?

Everyone is pointing me to threads that have cai, headers, and exhuast.....i am simply looking for CAI and header...no exhaust...don't want the bumble bee fart noise but want some "umph"...but you guys are so busy trying to point me places where the information i need isn't there...i found soemone with the combo i am looking at...which wasn't in either of the threads you linked
ToyoCel 08-01-2006, 07:32 PM I dont have an exaust yet. I only have an intake and headers (for now). You can feel a slight gain but it doesnt make much sense to let your tC take big gulps of air and restrict its exit. I understand that you want ummph without the loud sound but go get the results your looking for, i recommond you do get an exaust. Im waiting on a Draxas exaust!!
soros151 08-01-2006, 07:42 PM Want to take full benefit from the header, usa an exhaust, no noise and no fart can for u? Use a larger resonator then.
insanetc 08-02-2006, 01:45 AM i ahve the aw header.injen sr/ and driver fx drag race exhaust and my tc is loud as hell butt i like it its not a annoying liud i have had the header for almost a year now so most of the rasp is gone but i just had it dynoed for modified mag and i put 165 ft/lbs and 162 whp..which is awesome fo rour cars..but its all up to you bro
Revilo 08-02-2006, 05:31 AM If you are going to install a header... you better have the Precision muffler or the GReddy SP2 to avoid attention that you would not like...
TheGreatTonge 08-02-2006, 03:41 PM I really just don't want to to the N/A exhuast thing again.......really loud espically with a set of headers but i want the power...i'll see what money i have to burn....maybe it isn't that bad but i don't know of any tC in my area with a cai/header/exhuast combo so i don't know what it will sound like
Revilo 08-02-2006, 11:12 PM Install the Precision muffler or the GReddy SP2, they are almost OEM look... but also they would make your car quiet in combination with a header... in addition to that they would increase your performance... (I dont know the Precision muffler, but the SP2 could increase by 6whp)
