Default Redline hood lift on CF hood?

so i just replaced my hood, but i wanna put that redline tuning hood lift back on. Is it going to damage the CF hood? is it too much pressure? I think i'll be fine, but my friends say don't do it.

Anyone else running the Redline hood lift with a CF hood?

Contact the guys at RedLine. I have spoken with them a few times on a different products they offer, and they have been great to work with. The hood lift ROCKS!!!

hmm... they should have lifts that are weaker so that there's not too much pressure...

worse case is that's it's too strong and you'll need to be careful opening the hood..

"vroomf.. wack!" oops..

ehh.. you'll be fine..

you should be alright. if you are worried about the frame cracking just make a small plate that is a few inches long. then mount the lift to that. since the plate will take up more surface area it won't put all the pressure in one spot.

I have the TEIN dampers on my xB and I couldnt imagine using them with a CF hood. I would be too afraid the hood would crack right in half either when it hit me in the face upon opening or when I would have to sit on it to close it...

well i just put the lift kit back on and everything seems to be ok. Not too much pressure on it at all. When the hood is in the down position, it doesn't "pop up" until i lift it a little bit. I think it should be ok.
