Default Warranty issues?

For you tC owners that do custom mods on your car, i have a question. Does your warranty still cover it? or do you simply not care? or do you have a "system"?

its not that big of a deal to me. I do what I want to do.

I know that sounds cocky of me, but the only problems that i can forsee occuring because of my mods is the engine getting hydrolocked due to the CAI, but i dont drive through lakes, so i dont think i have too much to worry about!

Warranty does not cover aftermarket parts or any problems caused by them

no they wouldn't know, but if it is caused by one of those parts...that's just shady. If you have a problem that is not caused by an aftermarket part, then your warranty will cover the problem...they're not just gonna say that because you have aftermarket parts that it's gonna cost u unless again, if it was caused by that particular part

for instance, i had an evap system leak a little while back. I took it to the dealer with all the mods on there, and they fixed under warranty. If the parts ddint cause the problem, they can't say no to warranty work

In the worst case they might use the fact that you have after-market stuff on as a cop-out. Even if the mod didn't 'cause a direct fault.

Example: You install fogs. Later on your radio or some other electrical problem occurs. They might blame it on the fogs due to a short or "bad wiring". Even if it had nothing to do with it.

Just playing devil's advocate here.
