Default *slamming door too much?*

the one thing i hate is when people getting out of my car, they love to slam my door! It sounds even worse when the window is down or half way. After i tell them all the time not too! Ever since i got my CDT components installed in there i want them to be more carefull. So ive been putting this off for a while and finally been able to do this!

I went to Lowes to get some weather stipping type stuff. Only $7.50 on the dot for this! I wish it would have been longer since i didnt get everything i wanted but ill pick up another one later this week! Really easy and simple little mod to help prevent the door from slamming onto the body.

Sorry Mod's i didnt know where to put this?

the last little piece is what i had left and stuck it there, felt the difference in that one. I did this to both sides and im thinking about doing the hatch too? Just something to get softer in there? Working good for me. Ill be putting more all around when i get the time and supplies, i only got 1 box for now.

ha, that's pretty cool. I might actually do that. Not for the same reason though. WHenever it rains and stuff, i end up with waterspots all over teh door sills. With the stripping, it would stop the water from getting on the sills in the first place.

the hatch i think is unnecessary. You can control that one by yourself.

i HATE HATE HATE when people slam my doors, and most of the people that are allowed to grace me with thier presence in my car know that.

Anyway, I think this is great. Maybe I'll try home depot this weekend and try to get this stuff. You think they'll carry it? If not, prob an auto part store.

It will NOT stop the rain from getting on the door door sills. Water gets on the door sills by running down the glass, into the door, and out the holes on the bottom of the door.

I can't tell where you stuck the rubber, are they stuck on directly on the body frame? or is it stuck over the original rubber dampeners? I don't know why I never thought of this earlier as well, people don't realize that our tC's is equipped with VERY large and heavy doors, so they end up slamming the thing as if I told them to f-off. maybe this will solve my problem.

Hmm.. This might be useful to me. Although i dont slam my own door, but my passengers usually seem to close it a lil too hard, no idea why tho..

and they don't have black... they have brown, white and grey. but according to the picture, grey looks more on the white side. i want one that's in black. i guess either way, i'll just go to lowes and print out that picture of the box. i searched on their website but couldn't find it

thanks everyone, i figured yall would like it.

lowes has different colors. i believe white, grey and black? Im gonna try to head over there tomorrow to see if they have a thicker type? i didnt search for a thickness just color.

.25" will be almost the same as mine just a tad thinner? I would try a bigger size? and also get 2 boxes?

my passengers doo this too but i try not to, so i lightly swing the door with enough pressure to just close the door so its not a huge thud, but sometimes i forget . will this weather stip make me have to use more force to close the door?

I'm definately doing that!!! What is it with passengers slamming our doors? Is that just a tC thing cuz they are so long?

I think so, once they feel that resistance, they just go BOOM

I've also noticed one tends to close doors much more forcefully on others' cars... I've noticed I do it too, I don't know why though!? I don't slam doors, though, unless its a POS car where you have to do that...
