Default No Light in the Glove Box

When you turn on the lights there is no glove box light. Kinda sucks.

If it is any consolation, the glove box is huge.

AC like 110? Or do you mean you can fit an ac/dc converter in the armrest (since that is where the second dc utllity plug is? If there is a convertor built into the tc from the factory for 110 and I missed it, please let me know.

No, he meant DC, and was talking about the accessory outlet in the armrest.

Really? I was surprised the first time I opened mine at night. I didn't think any company made new cars without a glovebox light. I'm going to install one this weekend.

The glove box in my '93 legend didn't quite close all the way. The glovebox light would frequently be on while I was driving and shine through the crack in the opening. Luckily, it did turn off when the lights turned off, so my battery was ok.

How about the light in the cubby hole below the radio? This light comes on when the parking lights are turned on if I am not mistaken. Is there a way to keep this off that I am not aware of? Although it is very minor, I do find the light annoying when I am driving at night. Even a friend of mine made a comment about it one night. I will probably find a way to cover it up in a way that can easily be removed if I do need the light. Right now I just keep my gate opener and my parking transponder in the cubby so there is no need for light. Any ways, just wondered if anyone else was kind of bothered by the light or had found a way to mask it.

take the bulb out. And really, keep your eye on the road when you're driving, not the cubby hole.

Thanks for the tip...I knew when I posted this I would get some smart response from someone. And for the record I do keep my eyes on the road. Half the time I am driving around with my 1 year old baby girl in my car. I follow all of the rules of the road and am constantly checking all of my mirrors and plus there is this thing called peripheral vision... Save the lame responses for someone else kaypee.

haha, ooh, so serious. some people get all uber-defensive. i'm sure kaypee wasn't trying to imply that you are a horrible parent and inattentive driver. just an innocent comment. correct me if i'm wrong, i guess.....

You might be right imjonk, but the point is I asked for some feedback and all he did was come back with a trite comment about how I need to keep my eyes on the road. Just not very productive. I take people at face value, especially over a forum such as this or email, unless told otherwise. I wasn't aware that this wasn't a "serious" (for lack of a better word) topic. Comes with the turf I guess and is one of the flaws of the system but I try to help people out when I do chime in and not just waste my, and their, time. But that's just me...

well, if he expected it, then he asked for it. I wasn't saying he's a bad driver, but a silly post gets a silly answer. If he looked at where the light was coming from, he might have seen the bulb sticking out and probably could figure out how to disconnect it.

valid point about the productivity thing. it's all in how you view the forums. you'll get a proper mix of mocking tones, jokes, and serious answers, usually.

i just get bothered by people who are so scared of being flamed and some practically beg to not be flamed. not saying you did that, but you seemed to get a little too defensive over a single sentence. anyway, that's probably the best way. take the bulb out. as simple as it gets.

no worries though. hope you get an answer that you like better about that light. nothing is more annoying than irritatingly wayward light beams. no sarcasm there. i even get ____ed off at my interior lights when i set it to "auto" instead of "off" and it comes on when i'm parked and open my door, but that's just me.

kapee, glad to hear you think this is a silly post. 90% of the posts in this forum are silly. Come to think of it, you are pretty silly yourself. Thanks for playing along. imjonk, I appreciate your responses and I agree with you about the light thing. My eyes are very sensitive to light. So the less light the better. So much so that I have the auto dimming mirror for night driving and have to wear my shades all other times. Maybe I'll run into you when I have another silly post someday. Any ways, peace man.

Maybe one could just move the light from the center console to the glove box and kill two birds with one stone.
