Default CC Short shifter Lots of play.

So over the weekend i installed my creative compacts short shifter

the top cap is a pain in the ___

anyways

i have up and down play and a bit of side to side where the pivot ball is under the cap

i have the main pin through the back and i put the two metal clips over the top of the cap, i cant tell if there is a gap between the cap and housing but this play is annoying.

anyone got any ideas?
did i skrew it up or is the shifter poorly engineered, or did i get a bad one?

how did you all put your top caps on, i beat the hell out of mine with a hammer, but maybe i didnt go hard enough
thanks

I'd maybe pull it apart and try to reinstall it again if you can.
Mine had an extra cap with it so you should be able to.

I've had mine installed for almost a year and it's real tight. It has a real solid feel, not loose at all. Especially after the bushings and redline mt-90 install.

Good luck hope you get it fixed.

I put mine on about 6 months ago and it still feels great. mine was actually quite stiff for the first week of driving but after the break in it become nice smooth crisp shifting. just reinstall like Shifty recommened. It that doesn't help see if it is the actuall part itself.
