Default New XB Owner - Just saying hello....

Hey everyone. I bought a new 2006 XB 3 days ago, and I love it. I'm so impressed with the great community that surrounds these cars. I also ride a Suzuki SV650, and I thought WE had a tight little community! It's nice to see that I can get the same type of support with my car!

I've got one question first off that I couldn't find using the search feature: Will a CAI (Like the Injen) void any part of my factory warranty?

Here's a picture of my new baby...

Welcome!
To answer your question. Only if they can prove that the CAI is the fault of the malfunction. So if your window won't roll up they can't blame the CAI (however they might try, just call BS on them at that point). But if say something did happen to the engine. The dealership has to prove that it was the CAI that made it happen. The Burdon of proof is on them if they say they wont fix it.

Welcome to the board.

Those rims are awsome. You can always swap out your intake for the original before you take it to the dealer for any warrenty work. They will never know.

It did. I paid a litle too much for them on the invoice (about $1500 w/tires) but I just looooved the way they looked. And when I got home, I noticed one of the wheels was damaged. Most likely, the result of some poor installation. (Tire and rim were chipped when the tire was put on the wheel.) But I drove back the next day, and the dealer said, "No problem. We'll order a new wheel and tire, and come to your work to install it." So yeah, I'm happy about that!

***Weird. As I was typing this, the dealer called me to tell me the wheel was delayed, and it should be here in a week or two. Spooky!

Welcome! The rims definitely look great on your box. 3 days and you're already talking intake? You've got the itch already!

Thanks again. Well, after years and years of racing 1st-Gen Honda CRX's, I'm not new to underpowered 4-cylinders! After the intake, a few fuel/efi modifications at the shop, and I'm gonna leave the rest alone. It's a commuter, and I've got a motorcycle to fill the "speed gap"!

hey welcome....as 20 other people told you above me.........If you have any other questions or concerns or just want to know if something can be done to these cars just post it on the boards.........Of course in the proper category.......It wil be answered almost instantly.......as for the intake I don't think it will void the warranty for the simple fact that they sell xb's everyday with those items installed on them at the dealership........Have fun on the site it's a great community

As a new guy to the community I say welcome and try not to take anything we joke about to heart. Nice Box and do you really think you wont do any more Mods or is that just what you are telling yourself as of now?

Welcome!

My first suggestion if you're going to be doing a lot of mods is really get to know how to use the search feature. It takes some time to narrow down to specific topics, but once you know it, there's a wealth of information here.

I've found answers to things like from how to take your dash out to what is the shift **** thread.

When your engine sucks up water through the intake, and as the piston or pistons try to compress what's in that cylinder, they are unable to do so because water does not compress, so you end up with bent rods and stuff... rendering your engine useless.

Generally this happens when you have an air filter close to the ground and drive through deep water. Short ram intakes put the filter near the battery, so this should not be a concern for you, unless you drive into a lake.
