Default New FM tC arriving next week....HELP!?!

Hey there tC clan,

Well my tC will be arriving next week and I ordered the following accessories:
Blue interior lights $250
Rear pedestal spoiler $423
Rear tail lights by TYC $340
TRD lowering springs $499 installed

I was kinda stoked about ordering my choices, but after searching this sit (an amazing source of info and seems like a lot of cool people) I'm secong guessing my choices because I see so many of you doing your own installs as well as have seen a few comments that the alternate tail lights aren't that great ( I think that they looked better than the stock ones in the pictures I've seen but are they workth the money and do they represent well in real life??). I would really appreciate anyome and everone's opinions either replying to this post or PM'ing me. If I need to change my choices I still have time to do so. I just want to hear if I should do any of this stuff myself to save $$$ like tail lights, interior blue lighting, etc. I know ZERO about modding cars but am VERY interested in learning. I live in between Philly and Baltimore so if there's anoyone out there that is willing to tak me under their wing for install advice, I would totally be grateful. My feeling is that I get these initial mods done and then move on to more things as time goes on (wheels, air intake, body kit, angel eyes headlights, etc.).

I REALLY appreciate anyone's advice and time on this!

Thanks and I'm looking forward to 'officially' belonging here!

T

personaly i don't care for the tailights at all, i think they look tacky, but thats just mho, i got the blue interior lights and i'm disappointed. they aren't very bright, and the install could be alot better. you're better off going aftermarket for the lights. i would suggest LED's insted off the bar. vezod i think is the name of the a company i'v seen before they are awesome, but expensive. you're prolly looking at around 200 just for the lights if i remeber correctly. as far as the spoiler goes if you like it get it

hope this helped in someway good luck with your new car

ps. the lights come in 2ways, car and motorcycle, i recommend the motorcycle ones, they are made for outdoor use so they are more durable, but they are more expensive

thanks for the info guys...the only thing is that I am a TOTAL novice at doing anything car related except for changing oil and filling it with gas! Can I do these installs on my own?

Thanks

you could probably do them all yourself except the springs...but really it's not worth it. let the dealer do it, they'll do it right and what...you've financed..so you're out of pocket a couple of bucks a month on your payments?

well there are guides on scionlife to show how to do certain things...or i could show you myself how to put aftermarket tails in. its really not hard. i agree with jetlounge with the springs though. you probably want the dealer to install those.
