so i want to custom paint my taillights similar to this...

i plan to Nightshade my tails but have parts of it not shaded.

i'm thinkin of using my own custom image...but how the heck do you do it?? it looks hott! any help is appreciated. thanks!

 

painters tape. and the spray paint.

 

oh, so do you shape the painters tape like the shape you want then.. that seems hard. for example.. the scion logo.

 

lay it out, draw on your scion emblem, or trace it, then use an exacto knife to cut off the excess.

 

ahhh ok.. i was all thinkin u cut up a decal or sumthin ..spray with the decal on then peel decal off... is painters tape pretty thick so as not to rip when i cut it out and try to place it on the light??

 

you could do the decal thing, as longs as you can find what you want.

 

yeh i think painters tape sounds like the safest so that when i peel it off..it wont take the paint with it.

 

right on. with my tails, I used painters tape.

Also, if you do the nightshades on the outside, get a UV protectant clear coat, so you won't have any fading or other issues.

I bought some Krylon UV protectant clear at Michael's craft store.

It's worked for me so far.

nope, it's just the same idea, and process is the same, just your paint is blck, while mine's red.
