Default I Have Brought Him Over to the Dark Side...

Okay...

As some of you may know, I have ordered a 2006 PW xB, manual. It should arrive at the port on Tuesday (8/15). My boyfriend has been toying with the idea of buying a more economical car as he just got a job in the city. His SUV got abut 16 mpg! It had just over 100k. I have been begging him to consider the xB, and he even test drove one (auto). I would just love for us to have the same car...we can mod together! We live together, and we live in a condo with a shared parking lot. People are going to get a kick out of seeing one, much less two, xBs!

Anyway, so he told me a bunch of lights went on in his car (brakes, abs, check engine, oil), and that it had the be dropped off at the shop. He said he would be renting a car...how funny, he can rent an xB. The rental agency even had an xB that had DVD/Nav, rims, etc. Let's rent that one for the weekend and have some fun.

Well, he comes home, and I want to check out this 2005 TCM xB. He shows me the rims (18" black with silver lip), TV screens in the headrests, carbon fiber exterior accents (not really my thing, but looks good on silver). Then, we walk around the the back. He says, "You know, it's funny...somehow they put my license plate on here instead."

OMG...he BOUGHT it! Not rented! He had me going this whole time!! I keep justifying my purchase in that I will have 1-2 miles, steering wheel controls, upgraded AC, etc. His is used and has almost 35k. It did come with the extended warranty, which I will be purchasing. He got an awesome price, I will say. It was just about the same as what I will be paying, but he does have those extras. I can say, though, that I will have a much better finance rate. He got something over 13% and I got 7.7%. His credit is not as good as mine, although he was able to purchase his first home at 24 (he's 26 now).

I have changed my mind about getting the Scion alloy wheels, though! I want 17" Konig Sideways. I was going to spring for 18" but I want that extra forgiveness on the road. I was trying to get him to get a set of gunmetal gray wheels, and giving me the black ones...that wasn't working, LOL! However, I don't know why he didn't get the stock steelies. I better send him out to buy some winter wheels.

Actually, I was quite jealous because I wanted an xB first, and mine is still on a boat! We were considering to get matching license plates that say something like "HIS" and "HERS"...but those are almost definitely taken. Maybe some variation of that.

Anyway, I just wanted to let ya'll know that I'm one happy woman! He's such a smart boy, LOL. Now, all I have to do is wait for my box to arrive...

xoxo,
Jade

evosky,

Hey there...I used to live in Hockessin! On 1 Snug Hill Court, just for a year when I was in the second grade. I went to Sanford...that school was awesome.

Yea, I haven't even received the box, and I have a list going!

Congrats, Jade. One of the biggest mods with the best return on investment (money wise, time wise, etc) is putting a computer in your car. Click on the link in my signature to see what i've done and the benefit i've gotten!

congrats!
