Default Dyno attempts of my ZPI Stage 1

Well, gents, I finally was able to get to the dyno today. The car still does not have a DYNO tune on it (street tuned), so I don't know what the A/F is. It's still rich, but not as rich as before. It was not what I expected to happen! We get there, and the guy straps us on the dyno. I go to do the pull at like 3500RPM's, and when the turbo spooled and kicked, MY FREAKIN TIRES SPUN ON THE DYNO! Chris (guy that owns the dyno) was like man, your tires just spun on the rollers, all the while putting down 248whp barely on 0.6 Bar. He kept asking me about the tires, what kind where they, how much PSI was in them..etc. Stock Scion tires is what the car is on. So, he proceeded to synch down the straps some more. Do you guys know about those Industrial Sized Fans that are put in like warehouses? Well, that's what he was using to pump air for the intercooler. I didn't think it was the most efficient, but o'well. So, again another pull. SAME THING! Hit boost, and tires break loose from the drums... With tires slipping, she is putting down 250whp/250wtQ and barely on 0.6 Bar. Chris was like "man that turbo spools fast", "that thing comes on quick". And this is a guy who has fully built RX7's, Corvettes, LS2 motors about to be S/C all sitting in their shop, so I took that as a compliment.. Also, before we got there, there was oil on the dyno (didn't see any on the rollers, but who knows ) from an Eclipse they had dynoed a little while before we got there.

That was problem #1. Problem #2 is, he could not get an accurate TAC reading, so the freakin graph is all broken up. It would read, then the line just disappeared, then it's back, then gone. So there are all sorts of gaps in our graph.

Note to self: Bring DR's for the dyno next time, so there will be no will spinning what-so-ever!

I will try and get the broken graph uploaded later (although you won't be able to tell what's going on in it), as soon as I find the drivers for our scanner.

That's weird that your tires were spinning..

Normally the only type of cars that have that problem have 1000-1200whp.

This has been a problem in the past on stock wheels...DR will help you a lot on the dyno with traction...I assume this was a Dyno jet or mustang dyno.

Numbers are pretty good is respect to the car spinning....I can recall we have some videos of the gray tC blowing the tires off on the dyno at 80moh wheel speeds.

The reason it so bad at our power levels is the tq comes on so fast. The stock all seasons are feeling nothing but pain. Come up here and we will get some real numbers!!!

It's call the Spool of a 16G coming at you like a FREIGHT TRAIN!.... When it kicks, IT KICKS.

I think I was hitting full boost below 3 grand. I want to say like 2500RPM's. It's hard to tell by the graph(all broken up). But I'm working on the driver downloads for the scanner so I can scan it.

That's about right. The guy at the Dyno was saying like 8.4 PSI. I have set my Defi Gauges for record, and the boost would Reach a little less than 0.6 Bar, then it would inch up to right at 0.6 Bar. A few gears don't make it to 0.6 Bar, but just short of it (like millimeters short)

It comes with it if you walk out of the shop with a 10 PSI setting. I walked out with 8 PSI, because this is our first turbo car, and Kenny recommened getting use to the boost first. NOW I'M READY FOR MORE.......MUUUUUHAHAHAAA...

That .3 BAR variation can be pressure loss through bends and intercooler drag. Post the graphs sir. Nice job BTW.

I'm working on it, Freaking HP's website sucks! I start downloading the drivers, and it freaking gets an error after so many bytes of transfer. I will get it up though.

^^Thanks Don...LOL

Hey, I finally got the driver downloaded for the Scanner. However, it would only download on the IMac, and it is fishy when it comes to burning disk from the IMac and trying to load to a Windows machine. Anyhow, I'm giving it a shot, hope the driver works.

On a side note: once I get the graph up, you will see that I let off around 6100 RPM's. I took it to REVLimit 1 time during the 8 or so dyno pulls, and it was kinda scary, so I didn't do it anymore. So, all of the pulls are me shutting off at 6100ish RPM's.
