Default Gauges for NA

Hey Everyone,

I've searched and read about everything i can find regarding gauges...

I dont have FI - so obviously i don't really need a boost gauge.
I'd like to get A/F guage, but i need wide band

Any other tried and proven guages? Oil pressure? Voltage? Recommendations all around?

I can't even remember everything i've read about all these gauges! :-(

for the wideband I would go with the AEM. A voltmeter is pointless unless your running a huge audio system. Same for oil pressure. Really no point unless your FI. You could fo something like the autometer d-pic gauge. Those are cool and really do work. I have one for sale in the ultra-lite series is someone would want it.

i really want to get teh autometer nexus gauges...

Those things are awesome. And they have a digital gauge for wideband A/F.

We'll see what happens. They're pretty expensive... especially since im not FI

water temp is a little pointless cause you already have one.

volt is pointless unless you all about interior electronics.

If it were me, I would go with OP (oil pressure), EGT (Exhaust Gas Temp), and AF (air flow meter).

just my opinoin.

Gauges are worthless unless you've really done some heavy moddin...like F/I. The only gauge I can see getting would be a A/F gauge but it 's kinda pointless cuz the things gonna be sitting between 14.4-15.7 and never move out of that range.

No point in spending a grand for nice looking gauges that do absolutley nothing.

that depends on how you drive. if you do some heavy driving, like autocross, drag on a regular basis its not a bad Idea to monitor what your engine is doing so you don't blow it up. oil pressure in peticular.

even though these cars have a light (also known as a dumy light because it comes on after the damage has occured). it is a good Idea to keep an eye on. air flow or air fuel is a good Idea because you don't want to run lean if an injector fails on you and damage your engine. egt or exhaust gas temp is good so that you know how hot you are, again before damaging something.

gauges are not pointless unless your FI, it just depends on if you will get your money's worth. I've seen guys autocross and tell me that gauges are pointless on their NA engine untill they lost oil pressure and their light didn't come on.

its your call wether or not its pointless but I think its better to be safe than sorry.
