Picked them up last night...

Is it me... or is the material/pile of the floor mats ridiculously cheap? I remember our family's 1998 Corolla having thicker, stronger, higher quality mats.

This stuff seems to be made of the same stuff that value branded AutoZone and Walmart mats are made of...

P.S. Just a question, not a complaint! I LOOOOOOOOOVE my xA, problems and all...!

They sure aren't worth what Scion charges for them......but the carpet is cheaper than the mats...

they suck. i work at a dealership and they always look worn out. sometimes i just want to buy those trd ones off ebay since they're thicker and better quality. i doubt they'll fit though.

I've said the same thing about the carpet in my tC. The front mats themselves (the 2-in-1 ones, I dunno if you xA guys have those or not) aren't too shabby, but the car's carpet is cheap as crap. You can even see the rows of fibers, if you know what I mean, like the carpet just isn't dense at all. The rear mats are made of the same carpet, and are equally as cheap.

floor mats save alot of headaches.

I have the 2 in 1's in my xA, they are ok, but don't fit too good.

I have an 05 tC with the 2 in 1s, and my right heel wore a hole through the carpet after only a few months. Obviously this was a common problem, because the 06 version has a plastic reinforcement 'pad' on top of the carpet where your foot rests. Whatdaya know. Of course they won't sell you a replacement carpet insert at the dealer either, as that would make sense and make customers happy. Instead, they want you to buy a whole new set for $75 or so bucks. I don't know about anybody else, but I won't be getting another set - especially because my other 3 mats are still perfect. :ttth:

I thought some dealers were warranty-ing (is that close to a word?) them...

I went to the parts dept at the dealer, to ask about purchasing a replacement insert, not even considering this would be warranteed (that is a stupid word, isn't it?). If they do, this kid sure didn't know it - he just told me they don't sell the inserts, and I was out of luck. If anyone has had an experience with a warranty replacement, post up - I'll go back and try again.

Not to sound like an a-hole, but try to search the forums...I am almost certain I saw something about it here....

BTW, I will be searching as well.

I bought a set of 4 from Walmart... only 7 dollars and change. Picked up some 3M industrial strength hook-side velcro material, stuck it to the back of the mats, and VOILA!

Floormats that work just as well as the factory ones for less than 15 bucks.

I wanna get the 2-in-1's and just use the rubber ones to drive, and the other for shows.

both, and the mats are cheap. I do a lot of driving in traffic, so moving back and forth for an hour or 2, clutch, gas, clutch, brake, repeat.

silly question, but am I the only one who likes to drive in my socks on long road trips?

i drive bare foot sometimes, esp on road trips.

I've always gone for the Kragen or Pep Boys special in floor mats. Every 6 months to a year you can buy a new style and change it up in your interior.

i have a tc and got mine replaced under warranty... if you get it replaced they will giv eyou the new ones... they took all my old ones and gave me all new ones... but for my feet.. the rubber protection pad isn't in a good spot.. a little too far back for me.. i wear a 10.5 tennis shoe.. but wth.. they were free..

my feet are 9 1/2 and I think it's positioned just right. are you using the little plastic hooks on the floor that hook onto the mat?

i just did the unthinkable... made my own floormats out of blue bathroom rugs... no problems yet and have had them for about 3-4 months. and i have a 5-speed manual, which adds to the wear and tear on the driver side mat... still no wear or tear

i'm on my third set of matts also. my dealer said they were part of the 100,000 mile warranty since they're on the loan through toyota.

i disagree with this thread. i am very picky when it comes to floor mats and i love the Scion ones. now granted everything is always overprices when it comes from the dealer, but they charged me 120$ for the set and boy was it worth the money.

$120?!?!?!? Mine were thrown in the deal... the 2 piece ones, at that.

yep....that's why they don't fit our footwells too good.

oh well, they would be to protect my show mats, not to be them.

I bought the 4pc set from the dealer the day I bought the xB and then bought another 4pc set of the thin semi-clear mats to place over the top of the Scion mats to keep them looking new. So far they still look great.

I got mine from the dealer for about 70 from the dealer 2 fronts 2 rears
