Default Search for Optima Batteries

Hey everyone just trying to find out which Optima Battery to buy for my 2005 tC. I currently have one DVD player, iPod, PS2, Whelen 90 watt strobe lights, 400watt power inverter, a eD 9.2x and 9.4 amp. And I will have an Inferno LED underbody from WWW.OZNIUM.COM later next week and want to make sure I have plenty of juice for everything. Anyone know of any Group Buys or where to buy one online for cheap? Also how many of ya'll have any 15" subwoofers from Elemental Designs??? I currently have 2 eu700's which are perfect but looking for something for when them punks pull up next to me and need to be put in their place. JK

a yellow-top ought to do ya. I have a feeling that the stock battery would do just fine as well.

one thing on the optimas - NEVER drain one completely. you will never be able to recharge it.

I got mine from Costco for cheap... YellowTop are probably going to be a good solution for you.

I would say Costco. Before I got my yellowtop I searched for two weeks and Costco was the cheapest.

You need to go to an actual Costco. They carry the 75/35, which they sell for about $105. As noted by the little sticky dots, mine dates to my previous car-- I bought the battery in November of '03.

Do a search on their website. They were a little scarce when I was looking for my Yellowtop.

The 34/78 has 20 minutes more reserve capacity and 90 more cranking amps than the 75/35. Other than the 34/78 being 5lbs heavier and slightly larger, those are the only notable differences.

So Dr. it sounds to me like you are prescribing me the 34/78? is that correct? Also I know this will not simply fit on the stock battery holder and tie down so what exactly will i need to be looking to get to secure my battery in place? Thanks guys in advance for the help I have never upgraded my battery b4 just a higher output alt. once b4 on my old xplorer.

Buy whichever is available local to you. I have the 75/35 because in terms of local carriers, it was about $35 cheaper.

And no, the stock battery tie down won't fit (the optima is shorter and smaller in every dimension). But I know I guy that can sell you a CF one, identical to the one in the pic above. Wink wink.

...and how far from the sides of the battery are the tabs on the OEM tie-down? Sure, it fits. But it looks a bit off.
