Hey everyone, I'm looking to sell my xA here in a couple of months, probably around December/January. I was just wondering how much I could get for it when the time comes.

2004 Scion xA 5spd.
Phantom Grey Pearl

Options:
Rear Spoiler
Fog Lights
Scion Security w/ Keyless Entry.

Car will have around 18-19k miles by the time I'm ready to sell.

So what do you guys think I could get from dealer? Private party?

Why do you want to sell?

Why do you want to sell?

I'm in the market for a 97-99 C5 Corvette, wouldn't be able to afford them both.

So nobody else has any ideas?

Yeah...somewhere between 10 and 11, I'd think. Cars just don't hold their value. Just don't sell to a dealership - they'll screw you more than anybody else.

I would say 80% of what you paid for it...

I hadn't planned on going to the dealer to sell it, but was just curious as to what they might give. I know I wouldn't let it go for under 10k (thatd be more than a 33% cut of what I originally paid for it, $15.5k) Was just wondering if I could get more than 10k for it. I had originally thought anywhere from 10-12k, that sound about right?

Carmax here in Sacramento had a used xB listed for, I think it was, $12998. It was a stock manual. That's about $1100 reduction from a new one. Figure out the percentage they depreciated it and then use that percentage to get the used price of a xA. BTW , the xB was in the paper yesterday, gone already. If I did the math right that is a depreciation for the xB of only between 8 and 9%!! So take what you paid for the car and accessories, minus taxes, license etc. and deduct 9% to get an idea what a dealer (such as carmax) would get for the car. Of course you wouldn't get as much as carmax but it gives you an idea of what the public is willing to pay for a used Scion.

Well, mind you, my car probably has more miles than those you are talking about, or is it because these are Toyota's that will last practically forever, does it even matter?
