H1 bulbs for low, it comes with all the bulbs but you need to shave some of the insert to fit the turn signal. The wiring isn't hard , you just gotta tap the led into the turn signal, no biggie. The original bulbs are pretty bright, nice looking and the highs are better. But I changed my low to hyperwhites and now it is brighter than the highs but doesn't cover as much ground. They look good.

I don't know if mine are suppose to be like this but the light is diagnally downward from left to right. One straight downward line. Kinda embarrasing if someone notices. But there is no way to move em, I don't think. It looks fine when I drive but not against a wall.

I just am not a fan of H1 bulbs, really ____ty compared to H4 bulbs you are replacing. Thats what held me back from changing.

SHame they went that route.

They look insane with h.i.d in the highs. Like a beautiful, blinding square flying into the midnight dew. Is there such a thing as midnight dew?

I think all projectors have that beam pattern:

In the pic, is that an xA with an HID kit or do you have projector headlights cuz I thought that's what he was asking for and I didn't know the xA's had projectors. If you want an HID kit, pm hahajoey for a 7000k SPW kit $300 installed jdmeverything@hotmail.com

Hey Teddy,

The only problem with the aftermarket HID kits are that they are illegal to sell. A new law just passed earlier this year banning the sale of aftermarket HID kits. Only HID kits sold from the dealerships are legal. If you can find an aftermarket HID kit, take it. They're pretty rare now a days.

By the way, a HID kit cannot be used with the bB projector headlights.

just to let u know.
overseas made headlights like projector headlights
and whatever else MOST LIKELY were NOT DOT approved or SAE approved.
thus meaning any aftermarket headlight thats out BESIDES the stock ones
aren't street legal as well. and your ticket would be the same fee and same
severity as rolling on hids.. "MODIFIED" headlights or "NON DOT approved headlights"

i heard about that too....about banning the HIDs...
are they gonna give u fix-it ticket or something else?

theres a reputable company in UK sells HIDs....free shipping too...
just lil too expensive

aftermarket HIDs have always been illegal unless its a factory stock part that failed and your're just replacing the bulb or ballasts.

I did a similar conversion on an 98 Accord.

And yeah Showpaojoe, they are all like that. Dont feel like a tard. I think even the factory xB headlights have an angle to it.

Actually besk one figured it out for me. The US cars tilt down so the drivers side is lower so the oncoming traffic has less light but since mine are the jdm ones, the drivers side is high glaring into oncoming traffic, suckaz.

And you could put HID in the high beams of the projectors, hella scary.

H1 hyperwhites and HID highs, crazy bright combo. Don't cut me off

cant you adjust the beam??

i thought they make H1 hid kit...

When I was looking for hid, i never even searched H1, should've done my homework cuz i rarely use high anyway

like other said, its hard to find hid in US since they banned it

theres a UK company sells quality hid kits and also provide free shipping to US
http://www.hid-online.com they used to be autolamps-online.com

One thing I think people neglect to think about when converting to JDM headlights on any car is that the beam pattern is going to be optimized for driving on the left side of the road. So the kick-up in the beam when you drive on the right side will now be on the opposite side of where it should be. In some cases, this isnt' really a problem, but this all does depend on the design of the specific headlight unit. In some cases, it leads to you blinding all oncoming traffic and being a general hazard to other drivers on the road.

Oh yeah, check out the pic that G-Force posted, and notice how the beam pattern "kicks up" on the right side. That's to illuminate road signs off the right side of the road. So imagine that kick-up being on the other side, and shooting into other people's eyes!

But again, on some JDM cars, it's not that bad (I'm thinking about S13 Silvias in particular), but just be careful with your Scions...!

12-07-2003, 05:28 AM
Man that looks great! But yeah I wouldn't want the beam on the other side of the road. Are there going to be some mods to the design of the healight or the wiring diagram/design? I was soo close to buying a pair buit was still negotiating the set-up and how the wiring would be.

wiring is not a problem, all i worry is the beam pattern, i dont want to blind oncoming traffic :D

I wouldn't worry that much in regards to the beam pattern. I was running JDM spec projectors on my WRX for 1.5 years with 6000k HIDs and only got flashed once! It helps a little if you just aim the driver's side beam lower though.

There is a huge difference between right and left hand drive, especially when you talk about HID projectors.

I have the JDMS on my s2000 and quickly noticed right away the danger s of running them that way. There is a small amount of adjustment allowed so i tilted the drivers side down. I also lowered the front of the car more than the rear, gotta love coil overs.
