this is what i got. no regrets. has a tray for lug nuts, and bar padding (so it doesnt scratch the car's paint).
I bought the sears jack because my harbor freight jack broke after 2 months.
This slides right under to the jack point near the oil pan. I dont need wood blocks even with a lip kit.

the $100 or so i paid for the craftsman is well worth it. I tried the cheapo $20-$40 jacks before which was a complete waste of money (didnt fit without using stock jack first and felt like it was going to give out), shouldve just got the better quality to begin with.
stechs have a pretty low drop compared to most of the aftermarket springs for the tC: 2.4 front/2.0 rear and the original post was finding an appropriate low profile jack that would fit under the frame to jack up the car.
