Let me first say that I've read pretty much all the old coilover threads. Tein states the basic/SS coilovers can drop up to ~2.5" in the rear for the xB.

In this old post (http://www.scionlife.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=11613&highlight=tein+coilovers) , Teddy (bBted) said that the basic/SS can only go to 2".

I was hoping someone could else could confirm that. If this is true, then it seems like the only coilovers that can drop front and rear 2.5" to 3" are the Cusco coilovers.

Thanks for the help,

Grandpa,

If you want a true 3 inch drop, you'll need to go to Cusco or HKS. I have the TEIN Wagon coilovers and they go no where near 3 inches. 2.5 inches, maybe if you take out the rear collars.

I have seen the drop on HKS and Cusco, and yes they go that low or lower. If you do go that low, you may have to remove your front innner fender liner, and or roll the lips of the fenders depending on wheel size and width.

Thanks for the reply squirrel! A local buddy just bought a fender rolling machine off of Yahoo Auctions Japan, so I should be all set there (if it ever gets here - I think it's on a dogsled in the Iditarod right now). I figured I'd have to trim the fender liner too.

I guess it's HKS or Cusco then. Time to check out spring rates. I don't really need the camber plates the Cusco Vacanza offers, but if both are almost the same price, then what the hey.

I just installed my HKS hipermax C's today, and twisted them down to the lowest level.
It gets pretty low.
I havent had the chance to drive on them yet, but will this week.

-->that said, I really like the stance now.

Could you post a review in a new thread after you've driven on it? Their spring rates are low compared with other coilovers, but they might still be stiff depending on how they are damped.

I'm really interested in these, but I only plan to go with them if they are not overly harsh in ride.

Thanks man!

Totally worth the money. The absolute best ride I've ever riden in a Scion.

These things rides better then my Accord did stock with the HKS coilovers.

They are torqued all the way down in the rear, 1 1/2" from lowest point up front.

riding on stockes (right now) (gotta long trip to Austin ahead of me tonight).
full dynomat interior with 2 layers of jute.

The ride is awesome, you dont feel a bump in the road. It floats down the street. turn the radio off, and you don't hear a single noise.

It set me back a few bucks, but the outcome is toally worth it, the absolute best mod for the money.

It still corners about like our Xb on Goldlines, not real stiff, but way better then stock.
