Default A newbie to the Scion Life!

I bought my first brand new car a month ago, naturally, a 06 Scion Xb. But after adding rims and a system I feel I want to do so much more. However, I've never ever done any modding to a car before. Wouldn't know where to start, what should be done right away, etc. Tips, Ideas, etc is all welcome.

Thanks guys.

Welcome to the crazy world we call SL...Becareful cause modding is addictive.. Best advice is to read the forums and figure out what mods will suit your needs and wants. If you cant find what you are looking for you can all ways use the search icon or ask. Most of us are glad to help, but dont get scared off by the few bad apples that are around. Congrats on the new car and see you around.

Thats just it... I don't really know what I want to do. Or where to start. All I know is apart from dressing the engine up, I don't want to touch it. Love my gas mileage.

If you want to keep the gas milage than stay with the Show stuff...but you can always add the Go later..

Here's a start.. read these two forums and then report back. Im sure you will find some good things to do.

i suggest looking through the threads and looking at profiles and pictures or people's rides. it gave me a lot of ideas about how i wanted to mod my xB. also, just looking through the parts section will help in finding things to add to your list of ideas.
not touching up the engine in terms of gas mileage is a good resolve that many of us here have. you can do the N/A setup with I/H/E/P and still get the 30-ish MPG. i do, haha.
but really, taking a look at pictures will seriously help you get a better idea.

welcome.

You cant beat debadging it is free... Tail lights well, that is a hard choice, depending on style of the light and color of the xB. Which reminds me make sure you update your profile so we can see what color you got and other mods you have done.

it's the dark blue. I'll get on the profile updating issue. But as far as mods so far, I got most of the options available to me, that I wanted. I added cruise control, the blue sport pedals, chrome door sills, arm rest, the mats... and i think that's it.

Also added 17 inch wheels. And my stereo is two Alpine Type R 12s, JBL amp, Infinity components, eclipse amp mounted under driver seat, and an Alpine head unit with IPOD hook up ran into the glove box.

I was supposed to have the blue illumination kit but the parts didn't come in time, and I was moving from Houston to Virginia so I cancelled it. So other than those lights, I've looked at little things, like black/blue seat covers, different interior light kits, underbody light kits, etc.

Still looking though.

Yeah, only problem is my huge band pass box in the back. I have a towel rapped around it now because it rubs on the amp mounted on the back of the seats. But I love the way it sounds. Evenmore so now that I took the annoying license plate frame off.

dude that is crazy thread-jacking if i ever saw it.
plus, there are probably a billion threads on the tC forums regarding the TRD charger.

yeah, debadge is definitely the first thing to do in terms of exterior. it makes a HUGE difference.

Default .....Fun,Fun,FUN....

I must insist that you complete your car by installing a CABIN AIR FILTER in the empty CABIN AIR FILTER TRAY that is behind the glove box.
See the TECH thread called 'Fabricate your own CABIN AIR FILTER'. See photos of how to pop out the glove box to access tray. Filter out dust and pollen. Dash board will stay clean. RAV4 uses the same filter. Change it every 15 or 20,000 miles. Make one or buy one from any parts store for about $12. Do not buy one from Scion for $22. You gave them enough profit on the arm rest they installed. I installed mine and it was $72 from ScionSport.com.
Search for 'FREE MODS' and see all the other little things you can do for little or no money. Fun.
