Default Possible to get 230 whp w/TRD S/C, stock exhaust at 7000rpm?

Looking to add a some good power, while keeping it relatively quiet.

Does 230 whp on a dynojet seem reasonable with a good E-Manage tune?

TRD s/c
9.5 lb. pulley
NST Crank Pulley
Greddy Ultimate w/7k redline
stock exhaust

I wouldnt change the redline w/o performing engine enhancements. Im not saying that the engine cant handle a 6-6.5 redline stock ...but I wouldn do it ...and no ...7k w/ stock internals ....dont do it.

^^^ Im agree, do not increase the redline with stock internals... check zpi's internals for the tC.

why do you want to keep the stock exhaust? you can get one with better flow and keep the same sound... presicionmuffler or GReddy SP2.

With a TRD S/C and 9.5lb pulley alone you would be over 200whp, so why chance blowing your motor for just another 10whp or so?

You will hit 220 WHP with that pulley. And it you up the redline you will also up the boost. That 9.5 PSI pulley will now increase. I dont know what to, but the faster the crank the more PSI you will be hitting.

im willing you will hit about 10.5 psi with a 7k redline...im thinkin about bumping my redline to about 6800 with the unichip

So what are you going to do after your engine blows? j/k
I wouldn't change the redline either. Not yet anyways. I believe 220 whp is pretty reasonable for the mods. Instead of changing the redline it might be best to think about cooling your engine instead of making it hotter.

We made 242 on Ethans S/C car at 10psi with the stock redline and a Speed Density tune. I'd be interested to see what I could do with a stock S/C car at the same boost level. Im betting we could see 225-230, but I will need someone to bring their car in to try it out. ;)

I dont think he should "trash the greddy". In my opinion, its much more important to have something to tune with then it is to have more parts to make more power first.

the 7k redline would probably work once.

Ok, maybe I'm not that much of a pu$$y. It's just that my wife is pregnant and with a baby on the way I would feel bad having an exhaust that was too loud. It was ok when I was younger, but I'm trying to keep it civil. Maybe a mild setup that keeps the cats.

The 7k redline idea, I got from this post...

https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...t=7000+redline

Well, i just read SCC magazine put down 220 hp before the headers and before it was tuned. I just figure with a little more redline and better tune, 10 more hp sounds about right.

how about cutting the difference and bringing the redline to a mild 6600rpm?

i don't actually have this setup...just trying to research some realistic goals to plan for.

of course i was merely suggesting that he should unlock the basic first. the trd reflash is not bad as what some may think.

@7k is the valve springs able to handle that rate ?

its simple - if you spend a few thousand on a few engine mods - and then get an ecu - you can raise your redline to 6500 and have a lot more power - but doing it without? its not going to work for long. think about getting something that works since you are going to be having a child. pze

The wife drives a comfy TSX. That's the family car. The baby will ride in that car 95% of the time.

My TC was supposed to stay stock. But some teenager crashed into my parked AE86 "fun car" recently and I decided to play with my daily driver TC instead of fixing it.

Now that TSX has a nice 2.4L motor that revs to 7100rpm...but I know the Camry motor in the TC is no K24.

But the great thing about the TC engine is just that...it's just a Camry motor. You can beat it to crap and it's not that big a deal to replace. Not like the popular higher-powered Honda engines.

But yeah, maybe I'll just wait a while til we hear more about how durable this motor is. That or I may just see myself tweakin' with the head and upgrading the valvetrain just so it can hang up there at 7k.

there have been many reviews on the motor already. thats why im telling you that you should not raise the redline that much w/o other things.
