TC NHTSA investigation underway recall coming most likely.
One of the Scion TC’s most popular selling points is undoubtedly its panoramic multi-element moonroof, a unique standard feature in its class. Unfortunately for Toyota, it’s also the focus of a just-announced National Highway Traffic Safety Administration probe. Again.
The government agency is investigating whether 112,800 Scion TCs built in 2005 and 2006 are prone to having their moonroofs shattered by road debris. Just last year, around 71,000 TCs were recalled due to a faulty pop-up wind deflector that was also causing certain units to shatter. In the latter case, Toyota added a layer of laminate to the deflector to alleviate the problem.
Interestingly, Cadillac offers an even larger panoramic roof on its SRX crossover utility that has also been singled out for similar problems. NHTSA launched a probe earlier this year stemming from 17 consumer complaints into 2004-2006 models
So keep your eyes on the news and watch the mailbox because you TC guys may be in for a big recall real soon. Just informing the masses. you can go to the NHTSA website for more info or to file a complaint if your having problems with your moonroof.

This seems to be a huge complant in the 05/06. I just hope they figure something out to fix the problem and fast. I dont want my roof breaking on me. And then we can finally end the "Moonroof Recall" posts.
There are otehr Tc recall investigations going on besides the moonroof I'll post those another night it's getting late I sure hope you guys get your moonroofs fixed though the TC are awseome cars.
welll I don't own a TC and obviously there is a problem with the glass even glass has to have a certain standard these days the NHTSA is the guru in this country for safety so there must be something serious if they get involved I suggest you take it up with them and there team of experts and DOT enforcement officers. Go tell them there idiots I'm sure they will be very receptive. I post facts sorry they don't meet your standards but I happen to care about people and try to make them aware of what is going on if there not aware. Safety is an important issue and glass has to meet certain standards otherwise we could run lexan like in japan.
I wasn't ******* the info you posted. I was just stating my opinion. I mean the car did come with it. It is not like they sneaked the glass roof on people. Even windshields crack. Glass is bound to break/crack. People should've known the risk when they bought the car.
Yeah, I got my "recall" notice in the mail like 6-7 months ago.. I woulda had it done by now.. if every time I go to my dealer they wouldnt say " sorry... we already have too many cars for today"
