im almost positive you can do all the windows as dark as you want EXCEPT 35% on the driver and passanger window, and NONE on the windshield what so ever

yeah MD law 35% all the way around, 5" strip on windshield. Also dont forget that windows have a natural slight tint to them already so even if you put 35% tint on it will prolly come up as 30-35% or maybe even less.

You can have the back windows as dark as u want because they are pretinted.. the only way to tell if there's extra tint on would be to peel it off. And the cops don't want to be sued for destruction of property...

FALSE
MD tint laws are 35% no matter what even if you have factory tint you cant tint on top of it and prove you have 35% tint, even if you did the window would be very dark and will not pass the light test.

Tint law for MPV are exempt behind the front doors, as long is it is not mirror tint and so forth.

So does having pre tinted glass considered an MPV..... They really had no set classification for the xb. I've seen them w/ car plates and truck plates so I consider it an mpv.... so tint doesn't apply... I've been tinted 20 over the back since 04 w/ no hassels from police at all...... And whose to say how dark the windows came from the factory????
An inspector couldn't fail pretinted windows if they were factory or not as long as the front are ok.

Well most luxury car have pre-tint, pre-tint doesnt have to be black/dark/grey or whatever, it can be gold/tan/blue. Its just light enough to make it noticeable. My old 300zx had a gold tint to it, when I put 35% tint on it was darker than a car that had regular old 35% tint on a normal car. I am not sure if the xB are consider a MPV or not, it seem to be a debate about it. Federal law I believe are the ones that over look factory tint.

The xb is considered an MPV by toyota the way you can tell is look at the sticker in the door jam. Look for the vin# and next to it on the xb it says its classification MPV on a honda crv it says MPV under it....... SO tint the back as dark as you want but be careful if your dealer registered it as a car because then the popo will se car tags and not mpv tags and try to give you a repair order.. Or just show them the sticker and tell them the dealer registered it wrong........ But I was right........

black xB is correct. For trucks/SUV's/wagons the tint can be has dark as you want with the exception of the driver and passenger window which must still be 35%. The link posted above list only tint laws for passenger cars in all the states and not the variances for types of vehicles.

Here is a better link:
