i doubt you broke anything. you probably just wore you brakes a lot faster than you normally would.

She must have set the parking brake pretty lightly because you would have noticed that when you pressed the throttle the car didn't want to move, had she set it appropriately.
You probably wore the brakes a bit but I would bet you didn't break anything.

worst case scenario: you wore down the brake shoes behind the rear rotors. parts and labor is the same as a standard brake job. no biggie.

Breath Easy.... simple mistake, and no permanent harm.

Rotors can warp due to excessive heat (ie: friction). I would inspect the rotors to make sure they are OK.

Have you noticed anything awkward when you apply the brake? Maybe a shimmy in the pedal?

FYI the parking brake is linked not to the disc itself....to the drum inside the disc. no warpage can possible happen

Nope, you just ran around with your brake on the whole time. Pretty much all it will do is wear it down a little faster than normal.

Does the brake still work? I doubt it would actually hurt it, but ya never know.

Guys... the tC parking brake system isn't linked to the rotor/pad design... it's an internally seperate system... no worries about pads/rotor wear... worst it could do is wear the parking brake system a bit.

Yeah, it's like a mini drum brake inside the rotor hat.

Our parking brakes sux, I have to set all the way up for it to actually grab anything and I have never used it incorrectly. It's been like that since I bought, but been lazy to take it to warranty.

^^ Yea, I've had cases where I get back in my car, put the shifter into neutral, and have the car start rolling backwards on me! meaning the brake never really engaged. After that I learned to set it as far up as it can go, as well as take my foot off the foot brake to ensure that the handbrake has actually engaged

You can get the line adjusted though. You can do it yourself or have your dealer do it. Its pretty simple apparently, you just have to take off some dash panels and stuff to get to it.

you didnt warp anything - things are fine - if it was up hard .... she wouldnt have gone more then 5 feet and wondering why she was flooring it to get it to move. When you took your foot off the gas ...did it slow down fast as all hell?
