Default Third brake light replaced under warranty

Heads up for you guys,
My tC's third brake light unit started developing small cracks on it's lens going veticaly near the center. I brought this to the attention of the service manager at City Toyota in Daly City where I had my 15K service done. The great guys over there replaced it promptly without question with a new unit this morning. I haven't noticed it on other tCs so far, but it will be good to check this while you still have a BtoB warranty. The cracks are more visible in bright light and could be related to the lens being so close to the center and top of the rear hatch where some people might press down on when they close it. My tC is a mid-05 release, so it could be just new model run production issues that might have already been caught by Toyota by now.
Needless to say I'm very happy with how Scion Toyota handled the fix. It reminds me once again why I switch from the EVIL company Volkswagen to Scion/Toyota!

Nice heads-up. I have the same year model. I'll have to check it out.

Not too many success stories on here.

Hat's off to your dealer.

I agree, their present service facility does not look inpressive. I too can't wait for their new building to get done. Good thing will be that it will be walking distance from the BART train station.

Hmmm that's pretty strange , the crack you're describing.

Unless you've been twisting your cars up and down Lombard street at 70 mph, I dunno why that would have happened. Might just be a mfg defect.

I know what you're thinking, I thought of asking for it back too so I can experiment with adding more LEDs into it :lalala: , but the manager says, they need to submit it back to scion to get reimbursed or something like that. I don't know if it's true but I was just happy that they fixed it pronto and without any questions.

LOL Dammit man...I wish the junkyards would sell it. They only want to sell the entire hatch, and not part out the light
