Afternoon everyone!

I just got a call from the dealership that my 2005 Scion XB (Polar White) with an automatic tramisssion will be ready to be picked up sometime this weekend, I am totally excited!

I am planinning on adding some options to the XB at the dealership level before picking it up and I would like some advice what you guys think I should add.

So far, I have ordered leather interior and a motorized ragtop. I am also planning on having them add the TRD Lowering Spring Set, TRD Sport Exhaust and AEM Cold-Air Intake to top it off.

I am also considering adding JDM foglights and OEM Scion Rear Spoiler. After picking up the car I am planning on adding some 18in rims, what tire combo goes good with 18 inch rims.

Can you guys review my list and let me know if I am on the right track with my selections before Saturday as I expect I will be signing the paperwork then and giving them some of my hard earned cash.

Thanks in advance!
James

hey man thats great to hear. i left the dealership and didn't even think about adding some accesories!

but if i was there again i'd pick up the fog lights as mentioned, and also the metal door sill plates look awesome. atleast i think so.

the intake and exhaust is a great idea. i didn't even know they did that at the dealerships!

congrats on your new car man, have fun!!!

Glendora Toyota / Scion offers the motorized ragtop for about 1300.00 dollars. I will post some pictures of mine when I get it arrives this weekend. It looks real cool, kinda reminds me of my old VW ragtop.

Congrats on the car. The question I would ask you is why do you want the dealer to install all those parts? Do you have the money to go out and get the parts somewhere else or do you have to add the parts to your financing??

Personally I added the spoiler and Fog lights because I wanted those accesories to be added to my Financing total amount. You can get all the parts you mentioned cheaper somewhere else. But again it all depends as to wether you have the money to buy all the accesories aftermarket and not at the dealer level.

I literally picked my XB up 2 hours ago. I added the AEM - CAI, the Hotchkis Strut brace, alarm with remote start( my car sits outside in all weather) and I had a pinstripe added. I read on the forum that the AEM CAI would not improve the performance in any noticeable way. I, for one, noticed a slight improvement. I drove two other stock XB's at the dealership and mine seemed to have slightly better pickup. Of course , I could now be biased because it is my car!!!

I am not going to mod the car anymore with the exceptionof after market mats and a bug/stone reflector. Lund makes one that is grey- it would match my thunder cloud metallic XB better than a black one.

The only bad thing so far is that before I bought the XB I had only seen two or three XBs on the road in the past few months. Today, I already saw two other XBs in my color on the road. It always goes that way. You don't see the car you like a lot until you buy one. I spoke to the regional rep. and he said in the tri-state area they sell about 400 XBs a month. They only started selling them here in February. I think they are surprised. They expected to sell more XAs?????

Here is a good site to answer your tire questions:

Your list seems good to me. Next summer is when I am planning on adding some stuff to my xB, everything you are doing except the CAI (already got that) and the ragtop.

Go for it

motorized ragtop.

As in a convertible? I would really like to see pics of this.

I was in the local dealer today and was asking about dealer installed H.I.D. head lights. The salesman said that should not be a problem getting. Anyone bought HID lights from Toyota for their Xb?

Thanks!

Motorized ragtop is like a big sunroof you can't see through when it is closed.

Excellent choice BTW.

I just got the Tanabe springs, bass tube, floor mats, rear spoiler, red neon on the inside, rear bumper applique...I think thats it.
