Hello, Something different
I'm the proud new owner of a '07 Toyota Yaris Blazing blue, 5spd, hatch. Its not a Scion but its got the heart of one maybe someday it will grow up to be one. But for right now i enjoy the 40mpg
I came here since there isn't many Yaris owners in the NW that actually care about these little buggers, so i come to you people help see if xA/xB rear sway will fit, will the air supsesion fit on the yaris too and what other parts are cross compatible with the Yaris

i come from a old school toyota background and very involved with the seattle drifting scene, my other car being a AE86 which will become a race car now.

hey look the our friends in japan... there are a whole lot of parts being developed specially for the yaris hatch... give em say 3 months and you'll start seeing a lot of it... i want to say tanabe already has an exhaust system for them.

That's an AWESOME car.... I can't wait to see more in the PNW and would have a fun time with them modding away here and there... welcome, and although you aren't a Scion, you are out lil' cousin, which is good enough for me....
It'd be fun to see you come out to a Meet and Greet no matter what...
Welcome again!

The Yarises (sp) I see in HB (when they are available) are all being lotted with dealer added aftermarket wheels and tires (the overpriced $2,000.00 kind
)and the prices are up at and over xA levels. Drives one nuts.
Have not seen too many hatch backs in SOCAL. I like the color. I thought they had aftermarket parts as this was a design used elsewhere-----but maybe I am confusing with the Honda Fit.
there is a jdm version of the yaris hatch... it will just be a while before the parts start becoming available state side... i want to say its the starlet but the last time i remember that being made was back in the 80s when japan got the turbo starlet and we got the corrola fx 16... we got ripped off.

sorry.. thats horrible stereotyping... my bad.. i appologize
definatly looks cool.... like the color... blue rules!!!
as for parts i'm not sure..... tho i guess like us xB/xA peeps... if it fits an echo we can use echo parts to a degree.... so see what parts than can be interchanged with yours and your set...
i think you can put air on just about anything.. .just a matter of finding the right size bags/struts etc... after that.. hoses/tanks/compressors are all universal
thanks for the welcome, i definately plan to go to thenext meet and greet and let you all see her, prob the Dick's one since its closer to me
i plan to autocross her occassionally since the ae86 is not very competitive in any stock class as of right now and prob never be so that leaves the Yaris as the autoX car, and i'm a part of a local autoX club , TorqueSteeres.
heres pic of my AE86

shes a real track ****, i only put money to fix her when she breaks and to upgrade the whole suspension, been daily driving/Drifting her for about 4 years. Shes broken down on me a quite a number of times so she deserve the ample rest the yaris will give me to put some tlc in her.

ok... im sorta a novice in this area... i mean i know very little about this car... so the sr5 and the gts are the same chassis... so what is an ae85? cause see it was my understanding that the ae86 was the actual identifier for the car as a whole and not the chassis... cause i know that in japan there was a ae86 trueno and levin both... the only real difference being that one had pop up headlights and the other had fixed lights in the grill as well as the stock wheels were different... though at the same time you could also get an ae85 (levin or trueno). while it shared the same body style (chassis) it had a single cam engine and it made significantly less horsepower and i believe it didnt have an lsd either... when manufactured in the US you had the sr5 and the gts... the sr5 ended up with a whole different motor and was a horrendous heap of crap and the gts wasnt much better... hence people these days scrambling around like chickens with there heads chopped off for "jdm" trueno motors and differentials... it was also my understanding that the modified chassis (which had a trunk instead of a hatchback) was identified as the ae87... if i am wrong then meh... oh well... im just letting you know what my understanding was.
