Tein Basics vs H&R Coilovers..worth the difference?
Currently I can either pick up a set of brand new tein basics for $820 otd, or h&r coils for $1005 otd. My tC won't be seeing a single track day, and I commute about 50 miles a day..however..I am looking for a product that will last me at LEAST 5-6 years w/ no issues, and I do want to be somewhat slammed..which of these two would be best for my situation? I don't care about how rough the ride will be..I've had JIC Flt-A1s on my Solara, and the ride was no biggie. I'm not sure about dealing with Megans, in regards to some of the quality issues some people are having, ksports because I've only read about them on just a few hondatech threads, progress because I've read they're backordered, groundcontrols because...they're trash...zeal because I dont have that kinda money...so I'm sorta lost.. Any help will be great..thanks

I heard that H&R are awesome. I was in the same situation, just before a 14 years old hit my tC hardly while my tC was parked
... anyways... the H&R have less impact in drop (1.0"), and Im a daily driver, and in my city are a lot of dips between street and street... that was the only thing that conviced me to buy them... but my tC didnt live the enough time to have them
. Also, the H&R are German Technology, and I trust a lot on them. (I dont know much about Teins). In my personal opinion I would choose H&R, if not, why are the H&R in Dezod's tC? should be for something
H&R FTW!! You can slam H&Rs to the ground if you want (-3" front, -2.5" rear), but for the sake of your tC, I wouldn't go lower than a -2" drop no matter what you get. As for dampening adjustability, you don't need it; H&R got it right from the factory.

TEIN makes some great suspensions, but IMO their spring rates are too high for the streets and are detrimental to your handling unless you drive on smooth roads all the time. What turned me on to the H&R coilovers (other than their reputation) was the two spring setup in front. The bottom spring, or "tender" spring, handles most of the small bumps while the main spring begins compressing on larger bumps. The end results are the wheels stay planted to the road rather than upsetting the car over bumps, which highly sprung single-spring coilovers are prone to do; this is extremely important if your are taking a curve, freeway on/off ramp, or freeway transitions at speed.
