I called Carson Toyota to buy some bB door sills that they offer at $114 (2 pc set). I asked if my $50 gift certificate can be used toward the purchase...and the guy said no. wtf... i heard all other dealers are allowing them to buy practically anything with the $50 gift card from scion just as long it's purchased at their toyota parts store.

This guy's explanation was that JDM bB parts do not qualify or not valid with the $50 gift card... watevers!

This is BS...i thought Carson Toyota was a coo place to shop for JDM parts...but hell with that... i am utterly disappointed.

I know they can allow us to use the $50 gift card toward the purchase...it's not i'm buying something for my other toyota...i'm buying it for my xB...and they said no...then why the hell are they selling JDM parts out of a Toyota Parts store ? !

all i can say is that their reply was disappointing...not to mention ...their explanation was weak and sorry.

I usually like what Blubox has to say about things. But, I think you were being little irrational this time.

I am not advocating bad business. And I am not particularly backing up the guy from Carson Scion. It's just that from what I've seen from this forum, Carson Scion have been very responisve and helpful in people's need.

If some other person gave you bad treatment, you should have contact Carson Scion/TRD Parts (I think his name is Steve... I am not sure) directly.

After that, you still could have wrote about how you were treated bad with this cluless sales guy at Carson Scion over the phone. But, the guy who is in carge of Scion parts on this Forum straightened it out.

And for people who are using this forum as a foothold of their business, you gotta remember that the trust is hard to build. But, it's really easy to mess it up. Carson Scion staff should have been informed enough about whatever promotion is going on with Scion.

Toyota is trying relly hard to set Scion apart from conventional way of having dealer service. But, I still find most of Toyota delers treting it like "just another" dealer.

Thanks Torukum, I understand why Blubox felt this way, it was a misunderstanding on our side, one of my guys thought we couldn't take it for the JDM parts since it said General accessories on the gift card..............

Carson is a great dealership! Sometimes, it's hard to decipher offers over the phone, especially if someone's not familiar with them. As long as peeps are cool about fixiing issues, there really should be no problem.

The whole reason that the gift card is good for anything is that it's issued by Toyota Financial Services and not Scion. At least, this was the explaination given to me by an accounts executive at my local dealer.

Can't we all just get along? OK, touchy subject. I'll shut up now.

maybe i was abit harsh... i sincerely apologize...i'm having a rough day today.

a metal pipe hit my rooftop on the freeway to work and left some deep scars on it in two different places...so i was worked up already.

ne ways...i didn't mean to sound irrational..rather i was blowing off some steam. I know Carson Toyota has great service cuz i bought my Floor mats from them earlier. That's y i decided to call them for more stuff expecting such service as usual.

Apparently, the parts guy seemed very sincere about not letting me use the $50 gift card... i kindly asked why it was not valid...and simply put...he said JDM parts don't qualify.

I guess i was disappointed to hear that and the fact that he sounded pretty confident about his answer.

Again, I apologize if I have said anything irrational...but please understand that i just relayed what happened and some thoughts about wat the guy said and his reasoning...

steve, no harm meant to you or Carson Toyota... i still think u guys have the best service.

they guy from carson really sounds like he is trying. I'm planning on going there to use our gift card(s) beacuse i know the dealer that we bought my wifes car from (name withheld) would not be very flexible.

our issue here was just a miscommunication... and I will definitely call you up for possible body work if needed...i'm trying to repair it up with touch-up paint and buffing. If that doesn't work..i'll be calling you.

I have read alot of the post by steve and he seems like a cool guy and those prices you can't beat them. The lil town I live in, good luck at getting a fair deal. Hoe to say it.. the good ol boy mentallity. Been here for over 10 years now and damn I miss my old stomping ground: Santa Monica CA.. ahhh but damn expenssive to move back. Well I'm glad to see everyone is on better terms. Life is to short to stress out over the small stuff and its all small stuff.
