Default Just put a deposit for a 2007 TC - Is 6-8 weeks accurate?

I was too hasty in buying a 2005 Corolla S two years ago. I finally decided to go with something a bit more fun to drive and the Scion TC seemed like a perfect fit for the price/performance.

I really want to get the car I want, regardless if I have wait a bit. The dealership did not have any Flint Micas in stock so they said it may take 6 to 8 weeks to get one. The dealer said that he will try to get one sooner, but it may not be the case.

What are my chances of getting the car sooner? I know 6-8 weeks is the "offical" time, but does this usually happen sooner? After test driving one today I cannot wait to get this car.

Also, what is the real 0-60 time on a 2007 manual transmission TC? I have seen everything from 7.4 to 8.5. Does anyone know the official number?

If you need the car right away look around in the area and see who else has them and just get it from there.

Flint mica is overly common by me the hard colors to get are white and red.

I was told 2-4 weeks but everyone is a bit of a case to case story since so where quoted a long wait and received it quickly and other were just the opposite and waited 8 weeks.

Dont stick at one dealership...ask others, via telephone, e-mail etc. You may be surprised when one is sitting on the lot or in port somewhere close by.

Took me 40 days (almost 6 weeks) to get my 07. I wanted the extra airbags. I am skeptical about dealer trades. I am not a fan of having unnecessary miles put on by the dealer. Some ppl received their car with double digit mileage but some receive it with a single digit.

where are all you guys getting your cars from? I havent had a 6-8 week wait in about 2 years. Start looking around at other dealers in your area. The average delivery time for a tC coming out of our dealership is usually about 2 weeks max if we dont have the car here already or sitting at port. As a matter of fact after looking into my inventory, I have 6 flint mica's in stock right now as we speak...3 auto/3 stick. Start looking around at other dealers, thats the best advice I can give you.

Mm... I ordered mine in late June. At the time, I either had a choice of get 06 immediately, or wait for 07.

its going to depend on where you are. one of the dealerships here has a flint mina 5sp on the lot. it came on the same truck as my bsp.
I do know though that i initially wanted another SW, but the projected wait was 5-6 weeks. They had already ordered a 5sp BSP and was shipping, ended up that one took closer to 5 weeks. By my estimation, the SW which hadn't been ordered would have been closer to 2months.

On the other hand, flint mica is an incredibly common color, quite possibly the single most common color. SW, BCP and AP are the rarest short of being one of the two RS lines. Call around to other dealerships, if you don't want to make the trip, see if your dealership will make a trade and bring it in for you.

My 1st choice was Star in Bayside b/c my cousin had bought his xA there and the salesman, David, was great but he left that dealer. I didnt buy from there b/c the current ppl there have the "these cars sell themselves" attitude. I ended up buying from Millenium in Hempstead b/c my mother had bought a Corolla there and we thought the dealer was alright.

I had to wait 4 weeks to get mine.. And it took me 2 weeks to actually go into the dealership in the first place.. Reason it took so long was because I wanted a SW stick with no options and the first car they got had the ipod HU which I didn't need because I replaced my HU already and the second one was auto.. All worth the wait tho..

I just got my SW '07 tC last week and the dealership only had Flint Mica and BSP tC's on their lot at the time. They told me about 6 weeks to "order" one, but they found one at a near by dealership and got it for me in 5 days. I agree though, get what you want and don't settle even for your 2nd choice. Flint Mica was my 2nd choice, and I wanted to drive away with it the night I drove it, but I'm glad I waited to get my 1st choice of Super White.

my dealer said the wait is 5-6 months for a super white. Man. I love listening to their bull. Gives me a good chuckle.

To be honest ... to order and have a SW shipped in, given how in frequently whites are ordered, I wouldn't be surprised if it took 5mo. All the same, there should be a dealership somewhere within your dealer's network that can work out a dealer trade for a SW.

I wouldn't be surprised if you waited 5mo for a white, but you shouldn't have to.
