Are TRD's parts are better
I'm going to buy a Scion Tc soon. I might spend 30,000 for everything(is that too much?) I been looking at the TRD parts at the Scion Dealership. Should I go for the parts or are their better parts for my money. Do I need to mix and match? help me because I don't know that much lol. I relly ,relly need help
If you have that kind of money to spend I suggest you go and buy a car with a 30 thousand dollar msrp. No way in hell is a tC worth that much, hell sometimes i wonder if it is even worth the 17 thousand price tag that most of us paid.

A lot of it depends on your preferences, driving style, and goals. Also, some of it depends on if you want to keep your warrenty. If that's a big thing to you, I'd say keep your eyes on the TRD components, but check their price versus what you can find say online. Otherwise, do some browing on the forums for people's reviews/installs/experiences. That and walk in the shop sometime, and nicely ask a mechanic for his opinion. Depending on the guy in the shop, they can be a good source of information.
For myself, I'm looking at going TRD for most of my upgrades. It's important to me to have that warrenty for as long as I can, seeing that this is my only car and a daily driver.

The other guy is right. If u have 30k to spend on a car, i'd suggest something else higher to begin with. If not, just buy the car w/o any options and then look to aftermarket companies for parts. They're cheaper and gives more performance. But do some more research on each thing before buying, for better comparison.

Get the car stock and then do the "upgrades" yourself. There are a lot of helpful threads on scion life and a few good websites around the net to check out and buy from. As for TRD, if you want TRD, you can buy the parts online and install them yourself - you don't have to be a rocket scientist. In the long run, I'd say you'd save 50% of what the dealer would charge you.
For example, I know of someone who bought the same exact OBX shift **** as me from his dealership and paid I think $94. I bought it online for $32 shipped.

$30K for a tC?
Buy it stock. Then go to trdsparks.com and here mcgeorgeparts.com to buy your accessories. Both sites have a good selection of TRD Parts. Most of the 'upgrades/mods' you can do yourself and that will save you a lot of Moo-Lah!

shoot I was looking at some used cars the other day and they had an '04 evo for 26k, maybe you can find something like that too. though, I wouldn't reccomend a car like that used but just to give you ideas.
TRD parts are usually good but mostly horribly overpriced you can find aftermarket parts with the same quality for cheaper, you just need to do some research. Not all aftermarket parts are good but not all are bad either.

If you have even the slightest amount of car knowledge, don't waste the extra money on TRD parts from the dealership or having them install them. You can put an entire exhaust, header, intake, ground wiring kit and short throw shifter in, in about 8 hours (with breaks to eat in between). The dealership will rape you if you ask them to put all that in. Get it base and go aftermarket. Maybe it's just me but I don't like the letters TRD on my car. Too much of a reminder of the word Turd.
There was a 30k tC on display in my dealership, but I doubt anyone bought it. Although you free to spend your money how you want, I'd really recommend spending 30k on a car whose MSRP is actually that much - you'll be much happier.
If you spend $30k on a tC, basically all you'll get is the base $17k tC + a bunch of overpriced dealer options. Once you cut through the profit the dealer makes on all those accessories and options, it'll probably be worth less than 25k.
If you really still want the tC, I'd recommend starting out with a base tC, then just adding a few expensive options, like a supercharger and stuff. Do the rest of the stuff yourself, or just be happy with a few options and keep it at tC

^^Agreed
I would use the money I'm putting down on that car to put towards either an Evo or STI. For only about 6-7K more than that 30K tC, you get a car that can actually get up and move with a great amount of HP.
