Default Ok, help me find wheels

I've been all through the wheels thread, and all over a bunch of online sites for wheels. I'm trying to find a set of lightweight wheels by the 29th. Long story short, I had a credit card dispute open because of some crappy tires I had put on at Pep Boys. It's been decided in my favor, so on the 29th, I can get a new set of rims and tires without having to throw away the tires currently on my car.

I have a good idea of what I want now, and a more realistic budget.

I'm looking for a set of good quality, lightweight 17 or 18 inch multi-spoke rims in the $1200.00 range, but I don't even know where to look!

Most of the wheels I've looked at so far have brand names and "Brand Name RACING!" emblazoned all over them, and that's not what I want.

I've found:

If I can't find a clean multispoke in my price range, I'd go for a clean 5 or 6 spoke:

But these Kazera's aren't exactly lightweight (23 lbs!)

Also, both those wheel choices are from justtires.com, I'm just using them as examples.

I like the style of the Kazeras but that is heavy, especially if it's only a 17 inch wheel. I don't know much about Kazera's quality either.

A few sites that I have been looking on are:

www.edgeracing.com
www.wheelsnext.com
www.wheelmax.com

I'm sure that there are better and more reputable sites out there, but those 3 will help you get an idea of what you are looking for. I've been looking for weeks, but can't make up my mind.

Have fun and take your time. It's obviously a big investment so make sure you really want what you buy.

In my latest issue of Super Street Wheelsnext.com has an ad with 5Zigen Pro-Racer GN+ wheels set at $1099 for 18" wheels with tires. That's a pretty awesome price for those wheels- though, when I went on their website, their posted prices are roughly $4-$500 higher for whatever reason.

On the O.Z. Ultraleggera, the offset is 48.

The width is half an inch more than stock, though. So I'm hoping it won't look 'sunken in' to the wheel well.

Lightweight, Cheap and great quality. I think they also Repolish and IF you happen to dent them they will fix them for free.

i've got a 7.5" width w/ 48mm offset rim on my car, they do look pretty sunken in, especially in the rear. spacers are going to be needed to look flush

They're 8". I'm wondering if the extra width will fill that up, or if the insides of the rim will just be closer to the chassis.

Argh. Well, the Gram Lights good, aside from the universal fitment look. I'm still looking for a nice multi-spoke, but might end up with Grams if I can't find anything.

How lightweight? I'm generally not a fan of chrome, but some of those do look nice.

They don't seem to list the wheel weight on their site, though.

i would go with the OZ's.. they look pretty good.

also, since you ahve a wider wheel, i would assume that the wheel would not look sunken in, but to be safe, i would try to get a lower offset..

i run a 7.5 inch wheel with a +42 offset, and my rear wheels look kinda sunken in

Found a wheel size calculator:
http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp

If I'm reading this right, the wheel should be 10mm less 'sunken in' to the wheel well than the stock rim.

Cool. I'm not opposed to ordering online, but it would be nice to buy from somewhere close and have them installed at the same place.

Just Tires is right up the street from me, too.

Look at bottom of wheel descriptions. They claim all the 17" wheels weigh 15lbs. And I can vouch for that as I have a set of the Vikings on my SRT4.

If you decide you don't wanna spend 2G's on a set of rims then i have a set of 18" Sevas 3-Twin wheels for sale, all brand new and factory sealed:

Only $600 shipped. These wheels are *rare*
