Sept. 30 meet - Drive for the Cure
Info:
For this event we are raising money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk to Cure Diabetes because my daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in August of last year. They do a lot of great work funding research and helping out families of kids with diabetes. The walk itself is being held on Nov. 4 and they expect about 20,000 people to participate. I missed it last year because I was out of the country, but it's a huge event and a lot of fun. If you are interested in walking, there is information on the donation link below.
The meet:
I'm calling this the Drive to Cure Diabetes. We're going to start at the Target at I-17 and the 101, meeting at 5:30 and rolling out at 6:00. We'll head east to the 101, then catch US60, then I-10, then up the 101 to Peoria and end up at the Crop and Shop for the Cure event my wife is running that day. Maps are below.
We're asking for $15 minimum donation and you get a sticker commemorating the event. You can give cash donations to me, but the best thing would be to click this link and donate directly to JDRF. If you donate, please include your Scionlife ID.
Help:
I want to stop on the east side so people don't have to go around twice, but I don't know of a good place. If you have any suggestions, let me know.

Does anybody have any comments or suggestions?
I figured those that didn't want to do the city streets through dwntown Peoria could continue on around or just peel off and head for home.

We've got 20 people signed up on Scionetics, so if any east-siders are coming and want us to stop on your side of town you're going to have to let me know where. Maybe now that everyone's back from Roswell maybe you've got some ideas.
Event is tomorrow!
Any east-siders want us to stop along the 101 or 60 and pick them up let me know where. This is your last chance, if you don't speak up we're not stopping.

At http://www.jdrf.org you can find infor about the walk on Nov. 4, research funding, and Type I diabetes. In addition to directly funding research through grants, they also provide support to families of kids with Type I diabetes, and believe me, those families need some. They also give my wife something to do with every spare minute of her time.
