Ok so I decided i definately want to get the upgraded wheels instead of the stock ones. Until now I thought i only had the choice of the 18in Racing Hart with 225/40ZR-18 tires. But now I read there is a 19in Enkei package with 225/35ZR-19 all-season tires. So my question is....

1. I have seen the 18in but what do the 19's look like?
2. What are the differences in the wheels (ride quality etc.)
3. whats the difference in the tires (does one wear out quicker etc)
4. will the 19's rub with TRD springs?

Thanks a lot guys :D

You mixed them up. The 18" is a 7-spoke enkei. The 19" is a split 5-spoke Racing Hart wheel. Search for more pics.

If I were you I would personally go for the 18" TRDs. They are nice. They have pics posted at partznet

I would really like to have the 18" Enkeis. I think they're better looking than the two TRD wheels as well as the stock wheels. I just can't justify the price, especially since it already comes with the 17s. Also, if I get the 18s through my dealer, they aren't going to take back or give me a credit for the 17s. So I'd be stuck with an extra set of wheels (which I probably wouldn't want to use for snow tires) and tires. I don't have any clue how much I could sell the stock wheel and tire package for.

For anyone who hasnt seen them I thought I might as well put them up to let you compare.

i placed my order for my BSP tC with the 18" enkei rims. it cost $1069 at port. but i'm still thinking about if i should cancel it. it does seem a bit pricey... and i might be able to find somthing cheaper. let me know what you guys think... should i get or not get for 1069? anyone out there already have them, how do you like it?

Go with 18"..19" are really hard to sell and they are more expensive than 20" usually

Also...Enkei is a good name but if something happens to the rims it's goingto take a long time and alot of money to repair or get new ones,IMO stay away from Enkei unless your certain that they'll be perfect.

I need a little help...

I am thinking about getting the konig unkown 18" wheels for my Scion TC.

What size would be better 18x7.5 or 18x8 and what size tires for them.

Thanx in advance

19's will look the best.

and you know you want to stand out from the rest of the tc's out there so dont limit yourself to trd. there are so many wheel styles out there that look better then the trd ones.

i have 19's and i prefer the ride quality over the 17s.

here's probably a stupid question: i know the 18s will work with stock springs, but can you run the 19's as well? We can't drop ours any--need to consider our drive way apron, as well as the firelane we take to our camper; so any tire/rim mods we do will need to be done on stock suspension.
Cucumber--those 19's look great; they actually ride better then the stock 17's? I was under an impression that on these larger tires that most of them do stiffen up; and with the crappy roads up here that could be a concern.
And as we run a sc now, could we expect any improvement in off the line traction with the larger rubber you guys are running, or are they more for corner blasts & show?
thanks

well Basstrack17 it all depends. i personally think my ride is better with the 19's considering the tires, my falken azenis st-115's. ofcourse low pro tires are suppose to be louder and absorb less sound due to its thiness, but these tires were created to absorb more noise. One of the websites said, "The ST115 utilizes a revolutionary new base rubber compound with micro vacuum capsules that literally suck up road noise, making this one of the quietest rides now available."

everyone here already agress the potenzas are horrible tires and i agree. but when i was deciding on wheels and tires i did a lot of research to see what tires would be the best, so i put extra money down for these and couldnt be happier. traction is amazing, and road noise is very low too. gas milage wise im getting 330 miles out of a 12.5 gallon fill up, this with 85% highway and accelerating at 3k rpm or higher most of the time. other mods is just the trd exhaust. so like 26.4 mpg. not to bad

with your supercharger, im sure you will get increased traction at the launch, but remember since the wheels are bigger your looking at more power used to get them moving, so if you are more worried for performance and still want looks go with 18's, but with the supercharger it will just hold back your potential, ofcourse by the time you get moving the momentum of the larger tire will help, but your 0-60 time for the 19's compared to 18's will most likely be higher. for looks i suggest 19's, but for performance 18's. i got 19's cause im going for visual rather then performance and although my tires are performance tires, they are still very comfortable and its always fun to take a curve really fast just for the hell of it.

changing out the springs will help you corner better and keep your car closer to the ground, again if your going for performance and stuff, a drop would really help you through curves and what not because of decreased body roll and lower center of gravity. you can always stay on stock springs, but visually and performance wise, not a great idea. my car really doesnt rub the fender unless im on some crazy roads, so its all up to you about the drop, i recommend a trd if your worried, but im sure a bump here or there wont hurt you. and you dont have to change the stock shocks out then either you can always change them later, but make sure you do later or do it together and save yourself time and money.

sorry for the long reply kinda got carried away haha hope that helps though.

thanks for the info--it does help out. In the old days; all you had to do was put on monster rubber in back, fill the air shocks to max to prevent rubbing on the fenders ( unless you went with tubs ) and away you went. We never cared about ride quality, or safety for that matter ( the speeds we hit on those bias ply tires would scare the hell out of me now ).
I'm thinking 18's would be our best bet now, a nice compromise between performance & looks, and making sure the rubber is ideal for our driving habits. Although I do admit you guys running 19's & 20's sure look sharp. We'd still use the stock 17's in winter, actually they have not been that bad up here in the snow, considering the sc was added; plus that would help prolong the "summer" tires life....
I appreciate the tips.
