I have always loathed the plastic dipstick in the xB. I contacted Steve at ScionPro about a possible remedy since I saw he had the ends for the plastic dipstick in the tC.

Sure enough... he came through, with a gorgeous polished stainless cap.

After:

This is a cap, and does require modification to the end of the dipstick, but everything from the seal to the end remains, so you don't have to worry about the calibration being off or any possible leaks. A Dremel and about ten minutes is all this took.

Thanks ScionPro!

That looks great. I would do that, but the yellow matches my car!

You mean after I cut it down?

After this picture was taken, I cut it down about another 1/4" and sanded a little better to get it round.

how is the knob held on then?

It threads itself onto the stick. It is held on very well.

$35

They were worried about putting a non-OE part into the engine... warranty-wise

And I need to correct myself: The cap is aluminum and not stainless.

Same idea but a lot cheaper.you can use just about anything you like as long as you can drill a hole in it.
Or you can use a shift handle,Door knob even a screwdriver handle.

But I liked the door knob.and it was only $7 for the pair from E-Bay.
