View Full Version : Halo HID are electric. (pix)
Thealexstop 09-17-2006, 01:57 PM I must say, http://www.newtiburon.com/forums/showthread.php?t=48458 has been amazing to work with. I ordered my 6000k HID at like 4pm on thursdays, and had them dropped off early sat morning! The install was crazy easy, for this kit; everything is truly plug and play. Now that i do see the level of light, i kind of wish i had picked up the 8000ks. I will try and get some night pix a little later, but this is what i have as of now.

MountScion1 09-17-2006, 03:25 PM Why do you wish you had picked up the 8k? I ask because thats what I'm ordering, everyone on newtib said that the 8k was a little easier on oncoming drivers, plus I wanted to have a little more blue. Anyhow I should have mine in this week, I got a relay to go with the kit so we'll see if that makes the install a little harder. Nice job though, can't wait for some night pictures........
brian 09-17-2006, 04:02 PM is that an fd i spy?
Thealexstop 09-17-2006, 06:15 PM is that an fd i spy?It turns out that i suck...FD= ?. The only reason i would have gone the 8k is for the less harsh light. Dont get me wrong, im very happy with the 6k, but i think the next set will be 8k.
Yanki01 09-17-2006, 06:37 PM 6k is pretty good, the higher you go the less light you see!
night shots?
typerhedlights 09-17-2006, 06:49 PM does the halo kit come with a wiring harness like those kits off ebay? Im interested in the harness that doesnt get power from your original harness in case it fries something later on. Ive seen kits where it has relays already inline and gets power and ground from the battery.
Uneek 09-17-2006, 11:11 PM OK guys im a paying sponsor now and I've started the OFFICIAL HALO HID THREAD:

all4degame 09-17-2006, 11:25 PM can we have pics of the cutoff about 10-15 feet away from the wall? Did you aim your lights down?
paul34 09-18-2006, 12:56 AM sorry for being such a noob... but if these are HIDs, don't they need projectors? Are they somehow built in?
captainlaziness 09-18-2006, 04:39 AM is that an fd i spy?
I was wondering the same thing. :ponder:
dieselstation 09-18-2006, 05:57 AM i think it's an NSX actually.
raWr215 09-18-2006, 11:16 AM Now that i do see the level of light, i kind of wish i had picked up the 8000ks
why?
Thealexstop 09-18-2006, 12:47 PM i think it's an NSX actually. http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y241/TheAlexStop/IMG_4727Medium.jpg
Im not going to BS here, I just like the way the 8000ks look..Although the 6000ks still look really good. You dont "need" projectors when running HIDs, but most people do. Even without projectors, you still get a much better type of light over OEM. I think im just going to wait till someone comes out with a well priced well build projector....im in no rush.
raWr215 09-18-2006, 12:52 PM you actually don't get a better light with HIDs in halogen lamp overall. the addtional glare might help you on a clear night, but it's actually a burden in bad weather conditions

Well, i havent had it in bad weather yet...but we will see. Going by before and after, i would have to say that it looks better.
raWr215 09-18-2006, 01:17 PM defintliy look better on clear days :P, people aim their lights a tad bit lower to be safe
next time on a heavy rainy night, turn on your high beams, you'll see the water from the rain fall will reflect light right back at you.
i was once driving in a storm and it was so bad i had to drive 30 on a 65 highway. low beams doesn't get me that vision ahead, and high beams made it worst. The truck driver and bus driver was like in front of me going slow too, and their water that they pick up on their wheels... man, i could not see anything
snow is worst since it's solid and it's white (reflects more light)
never experience bad fog before, so no comments there. Heard it as just as bad

raWr215 09-18-2006, 02:33 PM wee alot of glare (glare are additional lights that would not have been there if you was using HIDs)
umm the first picture, that light on the floor, is that there with OEM setting?
all4degame 09-18-2006, 06:00 PM i want to get hids so badly but the glare is killing me. I don't want to blind other people or get pulled over either. Only if I hade enough balls to do a retro
gtran1502 09-19-2006, 01:09 AM Just installed my set. The box arrived at work so I went down to the parking garage and was up and running in 15 minutes. I personally don't think an updated wire harness is necessary since I've used kits like these on my mom's E320 as well as my Honda 600RR. If my motorcycle wiring can handle HIDs, I think my TC will as well. Pics when I don't have class.
raWr215 09-19-2006, 11:56 AM i personally have sensitive eyes, i find that hid conversion kit hurts my eyes, even when it's in my car!
so i know how u feel all4degame

first off, these are aftermarket kits, and you are comparing it to other aftermarket kits
that is a no no. There is a reason why this kit does not require additional 'harnesses'.
2nd you are comparing different cars
3rd u comparing a car to a motorcycle
You visually comparing different entities with out knowing their specs.
if i had a blue pill and a red pill, same size and shape. which one will you choose?
gtran1502 09-19-2006, 02:35 PM I didn't make any direct comparasions. I simply said that I believe that if my motorcycle can handle HIDs then I believe that my TC can as well. It's more of an inference than a comparasion.
raWr215 09-19-2006, 02:53 PM Well i hope you know what you are doing, in the end, it's your car right?
MountScion1 09-19-2006, 04:42 PM I would choose the blue pill.......definitely.......
raWr215 09-19-2006, 05:00 PM great choice!
MountScion1 09-30-2006, 10:48 PM I posted some more pix of these halos (only they are 8k) on the other thread....

Uneek 10-12-2006, 07:23 AM Do you ever have anything positive to say? Pictures of light are hardley ever representative of what they look like in person.
